Getting L3 user id and confirmation code by email

Dear brothers,

I´m introducing Logos to a friend of mine, and I´m trying to install all free resources hoping that after trying it, she will update to some package.

The problem is related to getting the e-bible sampler as expalined in the wiki. We found an old Windows XP machine connected to the Internet. We installed Libronix, but according to the wiki, the next step is "Request your L3 user id and confirmation code by email, and log into L3", but there is not such option in L3. Does it means that we have to contact Logos requesting the user ID and confirmation code?

This sounds strange to me and I suppose that there is an option into L3. If so, I´ll appreciate an step by step guide.

I don't know which wiki article you are referring to, but none of that is supported any longer. I would suggest Logos Basic

As Alabama said doing it through the program itself no longer works.

You need to contact customer support directly and they may be able to add these resources to your friends account If you provide them with the appropriate information. The 'L3 user id' is simply the account your friend uses to log into the Logos website and Logos 7 software so if you have not already done so first thing to do is set up your friend with Logos 7 Basic as Alabama suggested. Along with thus user id you would need to give customer service the serial number from the e-bible sampler. But if someone has previously unlocked the e-bible sampler with this serial number it can not be unlocked a second time with same serial number.

After you follow Alabama's advice and get them set up with Logos 7 Basic, there are some free Logos resources available that are mentioned on this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/144111/905776.aspx#905776

Note the Themelios journals from The Gospel Coalition and the Crucial Series from Ligonier (R.C. Sproul).

The thread is a discussion of using minimal resource sets like Logos 7 Basic. Just the Faithlife Study Bible is great. I would suggest finding out the preferred Bible of your friend's church and "gifting" them a copy if it is not already included. The cost should be about $10. Working with a familiar Bible translation can be very helpful for a new user.
