Extra savings on Logos 7 libraries through 7/19

"Logos Now Members: Enjoy Extra Savings on a Logos 7 Base Package through 7/19."

This is very unusual, as LN discounts normally don't stack with the current 10% off sale. The last time LN discounts stacked with other discounts, it was for Logos 7 introductory pricing.

If you're not an LN member, that extra savings might go a long way towards paying for the membership.

This went into effect earlier tonight. The product pages now say

I am now seeing an additional $20 to $500 savings on my library dynamic pricing since this new offer started.

You might want to check again, and see if your prices also decreased.

The extra savings appears to be a bit more than 10%. I think it's similar to how the introductory pricing cumulative discount (10% introductory + 10% LN) worked out to 23%, if I remember right.

Oddly I only see the offer banner when I select not to have the feature set. So, I would guess this hasn't been fully implemented yet. Hopefully a blog post or email will announce it and clarify.

Thanks. It didn't seem like much to me. The fact that I could save almost as much as a subscription (about $90) indicated it was a pretty paltry extra savings, since that $90 would obviously be for something like Collectors.

Anyway, nothing really interests me. I've got a little time to mull it over.

If you look at the screenshots posted earlier, the additional savings comes out to 10% (on top of the 10% LN discount).

For me, Collector's dynamic price with my LN discount was $4900 before this additional savings, and now it is $4400.

I'm not sure why you're only seeing a $90 savings, unless your library dynamic pricing was only $900 before this sale.

The amount of savings a person will see is dependant upon their dynamic price. My dynamic price for most of the base packages I'm interested in is around $150-$300 so I am not going to see an extra savings of $500.

Naturally. I simply provided some numbers to illustrate how the added discount worked out to about 10%.

It might be because of the feature set issue.

For me, the added savings is already calculated on the product page, and adding the library to the cart shows no difference in price.

Either way, your final savings should be about 20% off instead of the usual LN 10% off.

Hi Mark - it was only a small purchase so I just calculated it in my head. I think it was around $120 and I could see that the original price was over 140

Uh, I don't think so. The difference in the totals shown is the amount saved by not adding in the Feature set ($121.40). Dave's screen shots don't tell us anything about any extra he is saving.

If Dave knew what his price was before this extra discount he could tell me what he would save over the old price. I could do the same thing if I knew what my old prices were. Obviously I don't.

I still don't know where you are getting your extra 10% figure. Excuse me if I'm just being dense.

Regular dynamic price of Collector's without LN discount = $5,331.17

Dynamic price of Collector's with 10% LN discount = $4,798.05 (10% off).

Dynamic price of Collector's with 10% LN discount and extra savings = $4,318.25 (10% off of the previous 10% off = 19%)

I looked, but I don't have a screenshot showing my previous LN price before the extra savings. Sorry!

18.9% works out to two ten percent discounts stacked. (90% of 90%) 10% credit back on that is an additional 8% on the original price, for 26.9% off total.

I am pretty sure what they mean by extra savings, is that when you buy a Logos 7 package (assuming you are coming from Logos 6) you don't have to pay for the feature sets. So it appears to be extra savings but it is kind of the foundation of what Logos Now is... It is like saying anyone that has City water, gets water at no additional cost this month... That may actually have been a terrible analogy, but they are telling you that you are saving on something that you already know you are saving on.... I have asked Faithlife and that is the answer that I get. It is not a stacked 10%. So until July 19th Logos Now members get exactly what everyone else gets...

How are you calculating that? 138.96-112.56 is a discount of 26.40. That is 19% 138.96, which is two ten percent discounts, applied successively.

I don't see any way to decipher what the actual savings are or if there even really are any savings over purchasing now versus some other time until perhaps I get to the "Place Order" screen.

E.g. I already have the extended feature set, so no feature set is listed as a purchase option--all I see is the library selected. When looking at the Standard Diamond package, all I see is a price of $1,444.44. There's nothing showing what the "regular" price would be, nothing showing my Logos Now discount, and nothing showing a special 10% sale discount. And after placing the library in my cart and selecting the "Next" option, the "Place Order" screen still has a price of $1,444.44.

However, once at the "Place Order" screen, there is a line that reads: Logos Now Members: Enjoy Extra Savings on a Logos 7 Base Package through 7/19, followed on the right with a crossed-out price of $1,783.26. That's the first and only place I see anything indicating any savings. The difference between the two prices is about 19%, so I'm guessing that's what I'm suppose to use to verify the savings, but I think it would be much more reassuring to show the savings BEFORE reaching the "Place Order" screen.

If there are any savings involved, the process is doing nothing to show them.

When I add to my cart, it shows my dynamic price crossed out, with the sale price written above it. Do you not get something similar? By doing 100*(Dynamic-sale)/dynamic you can get the discount percentage, which seems to be 19% (or ten percent, and then ten percent off the remainder).

The base package product pages used to have an (i) next to the price which you could hover over to see an itemized breakdown. You could see which discount(s) were applied, and the amount of each discount. In this case, we would have seen our dynamic savings, our Logos Now savings, and a separate extra savings for this summer sale.

It's unfortunate that FL removed that feature from the base package product pages, as it was very useful.

I suppose if someone wanted evidence of the savings, but had no proof of the extra savings available now, they could take a screenshot now, then wait until the sale is over and compare the two prices.

I think if someone wasn't sure that there was a benefit to purchasing before the 19th, what they could do is make their purchase, then make note of some other base package and see how its price changed after the sale. If that other price didn't change, then there was no benefit to purchasing now, and they could ask for a refund.

In my opinion, the extra savings are a better deal, but the introductory pricing was the best recent deal we got. Our LN discount itself was 15% instead of 10%, and we saved 23% instead of 19% on a library.

Of course, the base packages will be redone, and who knows which specific resources will be added or removed for L8.

Dave, your order screen has more info on it than mine, but I edited my post to reflect that when reaching the "Place Order" screen, there is a line for Logos Now members savings. I think it's just a little confusing that you have no clue what's going on until reaching that final screen.

When a customer qualifies for more than one discount on a purchase, our systems are configured to always choose the best discount for the customer rather than stacking the discounts.

Logos Now members enjoy savings of 10% on Libraries and 25% on Feature Sets all the time.

During the summer sale, everyone is enjoying 10% off Libraries. Of course, Logos Now members always get this discount. We realized that we had an opportunity to make the summer sale even better for Logos Now members, so we decided to stack this 10% discount on top of the existing Logos Now discount. That’s the change you saw take place on Friday. When a Logos Now member purchases a Logos 7 Library, they receive 10% off, then we apply another 10% on top of that for a total of a 19% discount.

Amen. FL has certainly provided us with many recent LN perks, such as a $50 off coupon, free books, a free subscription to Faithlife TV, and now, extra savings.

I am not sure how the yearly subscription manages to be profitable for them, but I join you in thanks for their concern that we are happy and satisfied subscribers.
