Highlighting Function Disabled?
Is there any particular reason why I can't highlight the book Cult and Charcter by Roy Gane?
I'm using an iPad Mini, running the latest Logos app and iOS 10.

Graham,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like the "Smart Text Selection" feature was disabled. It seems to be working now.

That is seemingly unrelated. The "smart text selection" feature selects phrases, sentences, paragraphs etc. INSTEAD of single words (or characters). Many of us like to think of it as the "dumb selection tool," but that is another topic.
In all likelihood, the note file was simply turned off for some reason and you couldn't see the highlights you actually made.

Alabama,
It was what did it for me.
I had no option for turning on or off the note file in settings, so that was not what did it for me.
Not only could I not highlight, I could not even select a text to begin with. And by text, I mean a single word.

Well, I think that jives with what I said. The "smart selection" feature makes it so that you CAN'T select a single word. You should, however, be able to select something to highlight... just with much less control. Because, somehow, it is "smart" to do so. [:P]
If it was impossible to make any highlights, I guess there may be a resource issue.

Just for clarification: The option would be under "view settings," not "settings" (two different menus). If a given resource has no highlights or notes in it previously, then there would be nothing to turn on or off.
