Comparison of different traditions ?

Hiya
Is there a resource that I could use to investigate/compare the differences between the different traditions that run though Christianity (i.e. how does the baptist tradition compare with the Lutheran tradition ? etc.. )

Enter the systematic theology interactive, ?!?!?!?! My fingers have been crossed for years for this capability (ever since FL said they were working on something like this). Essentially the Systematic Theologies Dataset needs to have the capability to be searched by topic instead of passage, and then sort the results through the tradition data that they already have. But I'm hoping they present that material in an even more "interactive" way. IMHO this would be the zondervan counterpoints series on steroids.

ahh, thanks James. I'll take a look at the systematic theology section and see if I can work things out from there. It would be good to have it search topics as this would really answer my question. It sounds a way in to my study at least so thanks for the pointer

Totally, totally true. This has been requested and requested. I remain disappointed FL has not addressed this outage. Recently I needed to research millennium views by tradition/theologians/etc. The manual effort to do this was inefficient/incomplete/laborious.

Gooddney question
But what do you mean by tradition? My background is Evangelical Sydney Anglican, therefore theologically I do not side with High Church Anglicanism, nor Middle Church Anglicanism but with broad spectrum Evangelical theology. However, being Anglican, I hold to some central beliefs that hold all Christians together who profess an Anglican form of faith.
I think I know what you are getting at though. How does Anglican or other theology compare with my theology or Evangelical Theology?
Perhaps, the best type of book to give a quick overview is a theological Dictionary. I have used the first edition of Elwell's Evangelical Dictionary of Theology while studying many years ago. It gives a general overview, but can be supplemented by systematic theologies from the various traditions that discuss the differences in a much more detailed way.
But be careful. There are different theological interpretations in each denomination, Baptist or Anglican and others will hold some things in comon while diverging on some points. The question to ask while comparing these beliefs is, are they representative of the denomination as a whole.

This might be helpful as a summary:

Sorry for asking and then not getting back. I am still working shifts. I just want to say thanks for all of the advice. I will look at the website James and Justin. I have also had a look at the denominations comparison book John and it is just what I am after I think so I have got a copy. I will also have a look though a dictionary - I never thought of looking in one for this type of information but I'll have a look for sure so thanks.
