Recommndation needed: Resources with outlines

I may be missing something in my library now, but I would like to find a resource that outlined all the passages in the bible. Not for a sermon outline but an exegetical outline.

I see this resource https://www.logos.com/product/45062/the-sermon-outline-bible-commentary but there are no screenshots......can anyone post one??

What resources do you have that provide good outlines???

That resource is not an outline of bible passages, but an outline of sermons preached about a passage.

I bought the entire OT/NT set from the competition (which is formatted better than Logos) for $279.

Logos is too expensive. The Pentateuc alone is $139.99

But hey, if you have the cash, it's still a great resource 👌👍

Are you familiar with David Dorsey's https://www.logos.com/product/39605/the-literary-structure-of-the-old-testament-a-commentary-on-genesis-malachi If you are looking for exegetical structure more than homiletical structure, I highly recommend!!

This is a good compliment to an outline you would find in a commentary or Bible Introduction, especially remembering the literary style of each book so that a foreign structure is not imposed on the text.

Sorry Mike! I totally missed this. I hope is not too late. Here's the entire outline for chapter 3 of Exodus. It's 2 parts and it runs through chapter 4:17. Great set!

Exodus 3:1-10

C. The Call of Moses: A Study of God's Call To Service, 3:1-10

1 The kind of man God called (v.1-3)

a. Moses was a shepherd: This suggests he had a heart that could shepherd people (v.1a)

b. Moses was a hard-working man: Tended the flock in the desert (a desolate place) at Mt. Horeb (v.1b)^See:^DS1

c. Moses was a man of faith, a man who would believe the miracles, the impossible acts of God: The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses as blazing fire from within a bush (v.2)

d. Moses was a man who would stop and seek the meaning of things: He stopped to seek the meaning of the burning bush (v.3)

2 The call of God itself (v.4-6)

a. God's call was to a seeking man (v.4a)

b. God's call was a personal call (v.4b-c)

1) God called Moses by name (v.4b)

2) Moses' response: "Here am I" (v.4c)

c. God's call was a holy call (v.5)

1) Symbolized in God's instructions for Moses to remove his sandals (v.5a)

2) The reason: God is holy (v.5b)

d. God's call was a call from the only living and true God, the God who fulfills His promises to people (v.6)

1) God declared the fact: He is (not was) the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (v.6a)

2) Moses' response (v.6b)

3 The reasons for God's call (v.7-8)

a. God was deeply concerned about the suffering of His people (v.7)

1) God saw their affliction (v.7a)

2) God heard their cries (v.7b)

3) God knew about their suffering and was deeply concerned (v.7c)

b. God came down to deliver His people (Israel) from their suffering: He wanted to deliver them (v.8a)

D. The Excuses of Moses: A Reluctant Prophet—Arguments Against Serving God, 3:11-4:17

1 Argument 1: He felt incapable, unqualified (v.11-12)

a. Moses' excuse: Who am I to take on such a task? (v.11)

1) To go before Pharaoh (v.11a)

2) To deliver an enslaved people (v.11b)

b. God's reply: A demand for faith—to believe God's promise (v.12)

1) The promise of God's presence: "I will be with you" (v.12a)

2) The promise of a sign: Israel would worship God upon the very mountain where Moses stood (v.12b)

2 Argument 2: He felt the people were ignorant of God and would be skeptical of God's power to truly help them (v.13-22)

a. Moses' excuse: He felt the people would question his call and question just who God is, question His power to save and deliver them (v.13)

b. God's reply: Moses was to declare several facts to Israel (v.14-22)

1) God's name: "I AM THAT I AM"—it was He who sent Moses (v.14)^See:^DS1

2) God's identity, the LORD God: He is the same God as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—it was He who sent Moses (v.15a)

3) God's memorial: His name, the LORD God, is His memorial, the name to be known and remembered forever (v.15b)

4) God's concern and care for His people, Israel (v.16)

5) God's past promise of deliverance: God promised 400 years before to bring Israel out from Egypt to the promised land (v.17)

(Genesis 15:13-14; 50:24)

6) God's promise to His servant Moses: The people would listen and accept his leadership (v.18a)

7) God's instructions to the elders (leaders): Moses and the elders were to approach Pharaoh and declare that God had appeared to them and demanded that they travel for some three days away from Egypt and worship God (v.18b)

8) God's prediction and forewarning: The king of Egypt would reject their request (v.19)

9) God's judgment and His assurance of deliverance: His hand of judgment would force the king to free Israel (v.20)

10) God's power: His power to cause the Egyptians to favor His people and to rectify their injustices against His people: When freed by Egypt, they were to ask the Egyptians for silver, gold, and clothes (v.21-22)

3 Argument 3: He felt that people would not believe him (v.4:1-9)

a. Moses' excuse: He feared personal rejection, that the people would deny his call and mission (v.1)

b. God's reply: God would give the people three signs (v.2-9)

1) Sign 1: Moses' staff would be turned into a snake when cast to the ground and turned back into a rod when picked up—a symbol of God's power over Pharaoh and Egypt (v.2-4)

(Pharaoh wore the emblem of a serpent on his crown, cp. 7:10-13)

2) God's purpose: To stir belief in God and in God's messenger (v.5)

3) Sign 2: Moses' hand would be afflicted with leprosy when placed inside his cloak and restored when placed back into his cloak—a symbol of God's power over health and disease, life and death (v.6-7)^See:^DS2

4) God's purpose for the second sign: To stir belief if the people did not believe the first sign (v.8)^See:^DS3

5) Sign 3: Water taken from the Nile would be turned into blood when poured upon the ground (v.9a)

6) God's purpose for the third sign: To stir belief (v.9b)

4 Argument 4: He felt he was not eloquent, not a gifted speaker (v.10-12)^See:^DS4

a. Moses' excuse: He was slow of speech and tongue (v.10)

b. God's reply (v.11-12)

1) Questioned His servant Moses: Is it not God who gives speech, hearing, and sight to man? (v.11)

2) Assured His servant Moses: He will help Moses to speak and would teach him what to say (v.12)

5 Argument 5: He just did not want to go; he refused, asking God to send someone else (v.13-17)

a. Moses' rejection: An unwilling, unbelieving heart (v.13)

b. God's reply: Spoken in righteous anger (v.14-17)

1) God would give Moses a helper—his brother Aaron—to be the spokesman (v.14a)

2) Aaron was, in fact, on his way to visit Moses: Aaron would accept and rejoice in Moses and his call (v.14b)

3) Moses was to share God's Word with Aaron: God would help both Moses and Aaron to speak, teaching both what to do (v.15)

4) Aaron was to be the spokesman to the people, the very mouth of Moses to the people, and Moses was to be as God's spokesman to Aaron (v.16)

5) Moses was also to take the staff in his hand: To perform miracles with it (v.17)

Preacher's Outline and Sermon Bible - Outline <~~ It says outline because they made it two separate resources. One resource contains the full outline (very preachable at times) and the other resource contains the outline but with commentary explaining major points and subpoints. I hope it helps!

If you have it and have not already done so, try to use the Bible Outline Browser interactive as it might show you potentially interesting outlines you already have in your library. Of course, not every resource with outlines is tagged, but it frequently includes commentaries as well.

You can also look up a book in Factbook (e.g., "Book of Acts") to access Bible books guides. The contents section will have outlines.
