What is meant by "approved sites" on the About Faithlife Music page? There are some major religious music sites that are not listed e.g.
These sites come to mind without even touching on my own tradition.
Also missing:
http://www.hymnsite.com/
(mostly Methodist and Baptist hymns)
Thanks for the list! Please post other suggestions.
We're working to improve the site, and want to offer as many useful cross-references as we can.

Here are a few more that come to mind - in the next few days I'll make a more methodical list:
Note that the liturgical music sites include music for Biblical texts especially the psalms and antiphons. This list reflects a number of historical traditions - Shaker, West Gallery, Shaped note ...
A suggested additional feature is to relate hymns to lectionary.
An example from The Text This Week which gives links to sites that provide hymn-lectionary links that illustrate the feature.
What is Faithlife Music and how do we access it?
I suppose many have the same question. Looks like it is beta, so may not be available to anyone who is not in the beta program.
It's available at
https://music.faithlife.com/
It will be available via a section in the Passage Guide and Sermon Starter Guide, among others. It's also available from Proclaim as a link on every song slide in the editor.
It's a cross-reference site for church music metadata; for each hymn/song it has metadata (Scripture, preaching themes, etc.) and then links to videos, audio files, and third-party sites with lyrics, arrangements, sheet music, chord charts, etc.
Example: https://music.faithlife.com/songs/this-is-amazing-grace
It does not attempt to catalog each unique instance of a song; it intentionally consolidates the data. So Faithlife Music has only one entry for And Can it Be:
https://music.faithlife.com/songs/and-can-it-be
but points you to Hymnary.org (among others), where you can learn that there are more than a dozen variant texts:
http://hymnary.org/text/and_can_it_be_that_i_should_gain/fulltexts
and nine tunes:
http://hymnary.org/tunes?qu=textAuthNumber%3Aand_can_it_be_that_i_should_gain%20in%3Atunes&sort=matchingInstances
There are also some charts based on song use in Proclaim, and more metadata, song discovery, and set-building tools will appear in the future.
It will be available via a section in the Passage Guide and Sermon Starter Guide
This is available for Logos Now/Cloud members to test in 7.10 Beta 1.

[Y] Thanks Faithlife!
I just discovered it. I remembered having access to the Steve Green Hymnal and was looking for a hymn to go with my sermon on John 15:12-17 and there was the FL Music link in the section. Found a number of songs which we will use for the service. Thanks.
