App Improvement Suggestion

When I use the Faithlife App, its usually while following along a sermon or in Bible study. I have my Bible open with my favorite study notes under it. But sometimes the sermon or Bible study goes in a different direction than what my notes cover.

It would be nice to be able to keep my Bible text where it is, but be able to switch the Bible study notes 'on the fly' without having to go back to the Resources to change it (like changing from my standard study Bible notes to my Apologetic Bible Study notes, and then back again).

Also, it would be nice to have additional textual resources available such as the NIV Cultural Background Study Bible or Hard Sayings of the Bible added (works that Logos offers which discuss specific verses).

Currently in beta, FL has created what they are (currently) calling "tabs." I don't think the nomenclature is good, because they aren't tabs! Instead, they are what I would call "workspaces." With scrolling view on, you can have multiple resources open and use the "page turn" swipe to move between resources. It is very nice. Users who still want paged view can still use the feature, but there is an additional step or two for them.

I'm not sure if this is a resource or feature request. Can you clarify?

Tabs is a terrible nomenclature. It's not a tab at all and that will cause a lot of support issues. They should call them workspaces or screens.

Actually, in the last update release notes it was referred to as Workspaces and Workspace Editor. I don't know if that was the first time that language was used or if that is the new official terminology...

Any idea when this enhancement will be released to general users?

Although not perfect, this would be a great enhancement, the next best thing to tabs!!!  I have been waiting years for tabs and have even been considering the purchase of a Microsoft Surface Pro for the primary purpose of obtaining Logos' tab interface (I like flipping between many resources and sorely miss that capability during small group Bible studies when even an iPad can be bulky).

By the way, just to confirm -- what is a "page turn" swipe?  is that a one finger swipe either to the left or to the right?

Sorry, I have no idea when it might be released. As for your other question, yes, a swipe left or right. There is a “tab manager” view which allows you to flip through large thumbnails of each tab (or workspace).

I have no inside knowledge and am only speculating. Considering how significant of an update this seems to be, I would not be surprised if its release to general users is made to coincide with the release of Logos 8 (whenever that may be) to help boost sales. That would be my strategy, anyway.

with the release of Logos 8

I dont think that will be the case. I would expect to be released sooner.
