Dear Faithlife,

I have a series of note files named "44_BoW ###" (### = series number)

The last not file I can see under Documents/Notes in the mobile Apps (Android 5.17.1 Bible, Vyrso) is 44_BoW 013 (dated Aug 27).

The most recent not file available in the Logos Desktop App AND https://documents.logos.com is  44_BoW 018 (dated Oct 3, which is my most recent file in this series).

I just updated Bible and Vyrso an hour a go to 5.17.1, and also added Faithlife Study Bible to my tablet (which I didn't have installed on this tablet before).

I CAN see the recent notes in Faithlife Study Bible, but I still CANNOT see them in Bible or Vyrso.

All of the notes in this series were created in the Logos Desktop App.

I've had this problem with the Bible and Vyrso apps for a few weeks and have tried several things to encourage syncing.  Resources and news get updated fine, but not these notes.

Why don't these note files sync to the Bible and Vyrso apps even though they do to the Faithlife Study Bible app.?

Thank you for our help.

...so FSB app is functioning "as expected," the other two are not. Right? The best fix for many problems is a fresh install. I would suggest that option... but FL may or may not ask for logs.

    Hi Alabama24,

Thank you for the suggestion.  I thought about doing a fresh install, but decided to give FL an opportunity to request logs or have me try something first.

    Dear Faithlife,

I uninstalled Vyrso from my tablet, then reinstalled it yesterday afternoon. (The previous and new installs were both v. 5.17.1 build 517010094.)

I still had the same problem as described earlier just after reinstalling and again this morning.  After using Vyrso for over two hours, checking and re-checking the App and Book settings, shutting down the app and tablet and trying several other things to get it to update the Notes, it finally started working okay.

I don't think I did anything to get the notes to update since I tried the same things yesterday and again today with no change.  It looks like it just takes a long time to update the document files.

    Questions for Faithlife Team:

    • How often are notes/documents refreshed?
    • Can something be done to speed up the updates?
    • Does the system always update all document files or only those flagged as having been created or updated since last update?
    • Can a refresh function be provided so they can be updated on demand? (For cases when a document is created or updated on one device when it is needed soon on another device - like last-minute updates on Sunday morning.  This function could trigger all eligible updates, or at least a specific document file.

It can take a long time to download all the note documents. How many notes do you have? Documents?

Does the system always update all document files or only those flagged as having been created or updated since last update?

When you do a clean install, ALL notes are downloaded. When you open the app at a later time, it is checking for updates.

    Hi alabama24,

I have a lot of documents (1,100+).  The vast majority are notes.

This morning I reinstalled the Bible app and the notes were "all" there within a half-hour (huge list - I didn't count).  Much faster than my experience with Vyrso when I reinstalled it yesterday and didn't get them until this morning (with the app closed over night and open for a couple hours this morning).

I have the same unpredictability when I add or update a note on my laptop and look for it on my tablet.  Sometimes it takes a few minutes and other times hours (and as expressed in the original post, sometimes "forever" or never.)

It would be nice to have some user-control over updates by way of an "Update Now" button at the document level or at the App level to make sure I get what I need when I need it.

Exiting the app and reopening it <should> cause a sync to begin.

I wondered restarting the app would trigger a sync.  Thank you for the confirmation.
