Question/Help with Logos and Source Criticism

I recently watched a video in the Logos Pro section on Source Criticism (www.logos.com/logos-pro/source-criticism) and I have a couple of questions if anyone can answer.

1) I remember watching a class once on OT Survey and they labelled Gen 1 as being part of the E dataset but when I use the commands and techniques I learned above, the AFAT puts Gen 1 under P. Is the AFAT mistagged or did I mislearn something?

2) Does anyone know of a way to run concurrent searches on all 4 of the supposed sources so I can graph them. Would I would like to do is make a pie chart of the J, E, P, and D sources in the Pentateuch. Is there a search syntax that I could use that searches all 4 but keeps them seperate so I can make a pie chart, bar graph, etc?

3) I don't have a super powerful computer but it isn't an old computer either. I currently am using a surface pro 3 w/ an i5 processor and SSD for a HDD but sometimes when I run a search just on P my Logos will freeze up and I have to use task manager to close it and restart. Does this happen for anyone else?

(Yahwist OR Elohist OR Priestly OR Deuteronomist) WITHIN 11 WORDS source WITHIN 33 WORDS (Beresheet, Genesis)

((Yahwist OR Elohist OR Priestly OR Deuteronomist) WITHIN 11 WORDS source) INTERSECTS {Milestone <Ge1>}

AFAT has lemmas tagged with source. Search Analysis has limit of 10,000 lemmas. Graph results combines all the results (awesome would be OR results having pie chart segments).

No two scholars will put every chapter of the Pentateuch in the same source as the rest (this lack of consensus highlights one of the problems with source criticism IMO). However, in chapter 1, P is very much the consensus of scholars who accept source criticism.

I can't think of an easy way of doing this apart from Analysis Search, which is painful.

Yes, it just happened to me when I was playing around with this.

With both (2) and (3), I think part of the problem is the way that the tagging is done in AFAT. I'm sure if that tagging was being added now, it would be using Sections, rather than tagging individual words. But AFAT was tagged before that option existed.

Definitely true-ish. I have my own Bible software, and one of its early features was to tag source criticism ... from MANY critic-izers. Indeed, the issue is down to word level, and so I include notes, in addition to tags. A full 'chapter' would be hard to believe.

But sticking with one critic-izer is cruising for a bruising (I doubt my spelling).

Hey Denise,

Your post above inspired me to create my first post on the Logos forum! The software you mention above, is it your own personal software? It's not on github (or similar) by any chance is it!? I'd love to have a play since I've been looking for software that can easily show how different source critics classify the text. After reading Friedman's book The Bible with Sources Revealed I even considered writing my own. Thanks!
