Wondering what some peoples thoughts are on this. Also on the fence of the Adrian Rogers sermon archive and Piper. Would appreciate any feedback
Hi Keith, I have the Piper and MacArthur archives. For me the 3 biggest values in paying for them to be in Logos is:
1. Having them indexed and searchable
2. Having them populate in the passage guide
3. Being able to highlight and add attached notes that integrate into the Logos ecosystem
I would suggest thinking through what factors are most important to you and then deciding if they are important enough to make the purchase.
Just my thoughts
Yeah I was thinking similar to what you posted. Good thoughts. Thanks for the feedback did you get the Rogers archive too?
I got Piper and believe it to be better than McArthur and cheaper. Both are useful but got MacArthur as part of a Base package. I wouldn’t pay regular price for it.
Adrian Rogers I had to bail out on it due to unanticipated expenses on my RV. I’ll get it later on a sale or payment plan. It’s a must for my Logos library 👍😁👌

I was the one who requested MacArthur's sermon to be in Logos couple years ago or so and Logos was kinds enough to do it, because I always listen to his sermons through his GTY android app. So I paid his sermon archive full price, totally worth it, PLUS it includes all the podcast's link at every end of the sermons! (unlike John Piper's sermon archive) And oh, the archive doesn't include the Q&As, which also AS important as the sermon. Sad, but oh well...I can still go to GTY website.
Jimmy Evans and Tony Evans sermon archives are also still in pre-pub... and they're also amazing too! I just wish Logos would just make them instead of waiting for a push from pre-pub.
There is still 1 more sermon archive I want Logos to have... Ravi Racharias'
MacArthur recently updated his website. Do all of the old podcast links still work in Logos?

Thanks for the feedback! I have academic discount still so it’s a little cheaper for MacArthur than normal price. I had to the same with Rogers as well. That’s why I was thinking of going the payment plan route for it

Yeah I listen to him quite a bit as well. Thanks for your feedback and inp I appreciate it. I pre ordered Tony Evans as well hope it makes it!!!
One thing to note for the Piper sermons: The Logos resource seems to present his sermon manuscript, not a transcript of the actual sermon he preached. If he deviates from his manuscript while preaching there will be a disparity between the two.
I don't own the MacArthur archive so I'm not sure if it has the same issue.

Thanks for the heads up, so I'm guessing the Piper archive is not as exhaustive as MacArthur? At least on Grace to You where MacArthur's sermons are they seem to be direct transcripts of the message.
I have found this to be true as well, but not with any significant loss. I very much recommend Pipers at his price pint. If you have the MacArthur commentaries, skip the sermons. I did not get on Rogers because I felt the price point was too high.
I don't have MacArthur's commentaries, but I heard the sermon archive is better because the commentaries only cover the NT and a lot is extracted from his previous sermons. Not sure how true that is.
How much do you think Piper veers from his manuscript? If he rants then it could be an issue? Idk...
They recently monkeyed around with the URL of the transcripts, but the audio storage location hasn't changed, at least in the last 2-3 years that I've done some things with them.
That’s good to know

I once posted the Q&As in a single docx because they weren't in the Logos archive edition. Apparently they still aren't. I can't find the original post, so here they are again.

Nothing fancy, no sermon tagging, but each one has the audio link and the headings work nicely. It's through 2014, #63.
Make them all inexpensive within Logos and I would buy them for sure.
It’s pretty cheap actually about 10 cents a sermo but still an investment
