Bug 7.11 SR-1: Command box not suggesting correct resources
The command box isn't correctly suggesting resources, some of the time. For example, typing An Introduction to the Old Testament, doesn't suggest any of the following:
- An Introduction to the Old Testament (Longman, Dillard)
- An Introduction to the Old Testament (Young)
- An Introduction to the Old Testament in Greek
- An Introduction to the Old Testament in Greek: Letter of Aristeas in Greek
At least the first two should be shown in priority to the only result given for my library:

Strange one. I couldn't replicate with your example (although I have only 3 of those) exactly:
Using [an introduction to the old testament] in the command box I got all three titles in my library that start with that phrase. In other tests I normally get results where the search phrase appears anywhere within the title. If I put the phrase in quotes within the command box, I then see the remaining title that contains that phrase ("The World and the Word: An Introduction to the Old Testament").
I tested a couple dozen others that should have returned mostly 2-5 results with a few larger, and they all worked except "365 days with spurgeon". There are 6 volumes in that series but I believe only 5 results are ever shown. Only 2 showed in my results. Again, putting it quotes showed the maximum 5 results.

It seems I see much the same Randy does.
Here's the title without quotes in the command box (as per my tests, capitalization does not play into this), offering only the three resources that start with the phrase:
It seems that Logos stopped offering resources with the (partial) phrase anywhere in the title when I typed the third word.
In fact I own five resources where the phrase appears in the title:
Beginning the phrase with a quote will give more options, but interestingly not treating the phrase as such, but considering words in between:
The same will happen with only a concluding quote:
Full quotes will give all five and treat the phrase as such:
EDIT: I just checked, since I'm on the beta channel I don't run 7.11 SR-1 but still am on 7.11 RC-1 (build 7.11.0.0023) - I'll switch channels and try to update to see whether the behavior Mark is seeing comes with the updated release.
EDIT 2: The system behaves exactly the same under 7.11 SR-1 for me - the above screenshots remain valid for the that updated 0026 build.

I've been trying to reproduce this, but I've not been able to see the limited results that you are seeing. In 7.12 and 7.11 SR-1 I'm seeing these results:

Could your index be partially corrupted? Can you try reindexing using a few of the resources are not showing up, if you can't use the Command Bar, then using "Rindex [name of book] by [name of author]" in Faithlife Assistant should work. Let me know if this fixes the issue, if not we can look into it a bit more.

Interestingly, when I add the reindex command, the suggestions work perfectly (I haven't actually reindexed, of course, I've just typed the command in).
Reindexing didn't help, either. I also replicated the result on my other machine, so it looks like there's some logic in the code that's removing resource suggestions under certain circumstances.

What about the results for Spurgeon's devotionals, referenced above? All three of us replicated that. I suspect the differing results for OT intros could be explain by different combinations of resources in our libraries.

Reindexing won't affect this problem at all, as that rebuilds the full-text (Library) index, and these matches come from the Library Catalog Index.
You can force the Library Catalog Index to rebuild by changing metadata in the Library (add a change, change a rating, rename a resource) but I suspect that won't fix the problem either. (I'm guessing it's a bug, not a corrupt index.)

My working theory is that the system is misinterpreting the word "to" in the title.
In the same way you can write "ESV to jn 3:16", which will open the ESV to John 3:16, it's interpreting your input as "open [a resource named] An Introduction to [the headword] the Old Testament".
It's then failing to find those resources before it completely lists all resources in your library with a matching title.

I am having the same issue with Open ESV...now Open ESV isnt a choice, only Open ESV Notes, Open ESV Study BIble, etc.

This has been fixed in 7.12 Beta 2, if you could please confirm this is working for you.

That sounds like a different bug to me. If you still see it with 7.12 Beta 2, please create a new thread with screenshots and logs.

but only in that example so far. I tried a dozen other searches and it finds the phrases whether at the beginning of the word or somewhere in the middle or end.
