Cited By does not retain collections selection: by design?

Every time I open Cited By is has restored itself to display all my collections. I have many collections and it is simply onerous to have to deselect the same ones over and again. It means the tool is mostly unusable to me.

Is this by design or is it a bug? If so, can you make the tool remember all its settings or give us a way to save the settings?

+1 same problem,

I would like to further request that only show or list those collections that we want to use cited by for. Point is even with it collapsed state, I still have too long a list of collections. I have got 60 collections (not including all the Journals from Galaxie yet) with 4k+ Resources.

Are you referring to collapsing the collections that are visible in Cited By? (curious here)

Hmm...that's interesting. For me, it remembers which checkmarks I had set whenever I open it up again. I wonder what is the difference between your setup and mine?

What version are you using? I'm running 4.0b Beta 10 (haven't updated to Beta 11 yet as I have seen there were some Indexing crash issues people were having and I feared it might be due to the new beta).

What checkmarks do you have set on your Cited By panel menu? (Expanded view or Compact view? Sort results by search rank or Sort results by book?)

Have you dragged to reorder your collections in the panel menu?

I can't think of anything else that could possibly be related to the behavior you're seeing which is different from what I'm seeing.

I wonder if it is another of those anomalies caused by having both the beta and the release versions running? I have noticed it on the release version set-up. I don't think I've actually used Cited By in the beta version. I'm going to have to check on that.

Everyone of my 100+ collections is check marked. I went to the trouble to remove all but two of those check marks recently.

As you can see I also have the duplicated collection issue that's been cropping up, linked I believe to having the beta version.

Running only the release version here. It remembers which ones that i have unchecked. I keep it on my layout permanently, so perhaps it remember due to that ????

I don't keep it on my layout, so I'm not sure that's it. And I don't run both the beta and the release version, just the beta. It would be surprising if it's due to some weird interaction between the release version and the beta but yet doesn't happen on either the release version or the beta running stand-alone, but perhaps that scenario (unique to Mark among the three of us who have posted so far) is the problem. I can't think of what else it could be.

Well it is working now. I've reduced the checked collections to two again, closed it and reopened it and it had just the two. I closed Logos 4 and reopened it and there were just the two.

Don't know what happened or if it will again. Right now it is OK.
