Reinstall Logos App 5.17.1

Sad to say but really hating the new app, and Ive been searching on google to find any information on how to reinstall the old app 5.17.1 , which was really a great app that worked well for me but have been unsuccessful in finding any viable solutions. I would welcome any advice on how to install 5.17.1 , again to replace 6.0. I Tried reaching out to Apple for help but they were unable to help as 5.17.1 has been replaced with 6.0                                  It is a very, very rare occurrence for me to be on forums in the first place I normally just work around any problems but this is so distubing that Faithlife would realease a new app without any warning as to lost functionality so the user could decide if he would want to download the new app. Any help from a user would be very much appreciated at this point.

    Hi Trent,

    Concerning that the app downloaded without your express approval.

    Being a bit of a nerd I always expand the release notes on apps to see what is going to change - although I have never declined an update.

    I can't help with reversion to the previous release but would be interested to know what functionality you are missing?

    It is my experience (with the Android app) that although one can find old Bible APKs on the internet, I believe a kill-switch was programmed into the app such that older versions can't install at all after a revision is released. It produces a CRC or similar error. This happened to me once when I needed to reset an Android 4.2.2 tablet after support for that version had ended, and others have experienced the same phenomenon.
