How do I download all content at once?

In the previous version of the android logos app, whenever I had updated from say basic to bronze, I could click a button in the library of the app to download all reference material at once.

I have not found that in the latest version of the app.

Can we still do that?

So far all I can find is the ability to download one title at a time. I just upgraded from bronze to silver and that is a lot of titles that I would have to manually download one at a time.

Hi Dale - and welcome to the forums

As far as I remember this has always been limited on the Android app to no more than 100 (used to be 50) at a time. This can be invoked by specifying a group of resources - so for example I entered "pntc" in the library filter, dragged down on the library window and a "Download all" button arrives.

So this looks identical to what we have always had.

If you use the desktop software you can set up controls in the Library there to specify which resources are downloaded to which mobile devices - if you want guidance on that please advise

Thanks Graham, I do see that working now that I put in a filter.

It has been a while since I upgraded from basic to bronze. I don't remember having to do this before, but perhaps I did.

In today's technology what with our phones and tablets having the capacity and performance that just a couple of years ago was only available in a desktop or laptop machine, there is really no reason for this limitation.

I would urge Logos development to leave these kinds of decisions up to us the user base, instead of enforcing such restrictions on us. That is one reason I refuse to use any product with an "i" in front of the name because Apple does exactly that to its user base. You do it the way Apple envisions it should be done or you go somewhere else, and I chose the latter and have never regretted that decision.

I for one rarely ever use the windows version of Logos. I use the android app almost exclusively, and I am sure there are quite a few other users who do likewise.

Interestingly - in this case - there is no such restriction on the iOS version of the Logos apps[:)]

I seem to remember reading the reason for the limit on Android but I forget what it was now.

Understood - just wanted to offer it as a potential option.

Incidentally is there any particular reason you want to download all your resources as opposed to accessing them over the Internet? Is it reliable access to the Internet or some other reason?

There are a lot of current limitations in offline functionality and I know there are plans to address this in the future so it is interesting to hear how different people are using the software.

...and there hasn't been for MANY years!

Au contraire, mon frère! Mobile devices aren't designed to be static. They are turned on & off. They are in a constant state of flux. The best fix for MANY issues is a delete and reinstall of the app. The desktop app can automatically download and install new resources, the mobile app cannot. <Most> mobile users have access to the internet <most> of the time. Downloading a single book isn't a hardship. Since so many features are "online only" (including library searches), there is no good reason for most users to download their library... and there are many reasons why it is harmful to do so.

I know, I know.  And maybe when mobile was intro'd overtop desktops.

But I REALLY wonder. I've had my OT full library  for many years now. Ditto my Accordance .. he's my largest ios footprint. I have maybe 150 apps, many 2g+.  Re-installed one time for a new book format in all those years. Some betas, yes.

There's something in Logos designs or design philosophy for the advice 'don't do it!' regarding full-installs.

We can do that from the Windows app, and send all resources to your device in one go.

In the Windows app, open your library, mark all books, and in the "details" section, under mobile devices, tick the box next to your device.
