Pinned Start Menu Logos app fails to launch Logos 7

I have pinned the Logos 7 app to my start menu.

When selecting the item pinned I get the following error:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

To actually launch Logos 7 I must navigate to:

"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Logos\Logos.exe"

And launch the app directly. This is despite the fact that the pinned shortcut points to the direct executable above.

Is there a solution to this issue?

A log file is created when I launch Logos 7 from the path shown above. Attached.5633.LogosError.log

To actually launch Logos 7 I must navigate to:

"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Logos\Logos.exe"

If that launches correctly, right click the Logos icon in the Taskbar and select "pin to Taskbar"

When I pin and unpin the same issue results. There seems to be some system level permission conflict issue between the Start Menu environment and the normal file system.

BTW, I have the Logos folder in the Local directory added to my exclusions in my antivirus and anti-malware tools as this is sometimes reported to be an issue when receiving this type of system error.

Would help to know what the purpose of the pinned Logos.exe at

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Logos\Logos.exe

is with respect to the Logos.exe at

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Logos\System\Logos.exe

The latter is what is actually running when Logos is fully executed.

I have tried pinning and unpinning both executables, but get the same error.

Hello Mr.Religion,

Do you have a piece of software on your computer called "Advanced System Care" created by IOBit software? If you do, you can work around the error you are getting by doing the following:

Right-click the Logos icon on the desktop (or from the location you have found it in your user directory).
Click Troubleshoot compatibility.
Choose "Try recommended settings."
Click "Test this program."
Close the "Program Compatibility Troubleshooter" window.

That solved the problem. What exactly is the interference caused by Advanced System Care? I would like to not have to run Logos in Windows 8 compatibility mode. I posted the issue at the IoBit discussion forum.

I'm not sure. We're not the only application it negatively impacted though.
