Reading mode in Logos

When I preach, I use MS Word doc sermon notes and switch it to the reading mode. It makes your document like a 2 page book in the full screen and by simple clicking you turn the page. I would love to have that feature in Logos. Just one added icon I can click and read a book or Bible in a reading mode. Is it possible to tweak Logos to do it? Or we have to wait for version 4.0?

I know for a fact that this is one of the features that Bob Pritchett wants to see as well, so I'm betting it will be in the next version. In the meantime you can select a book and then go in and change the font size to make it more reasonable to read, but it's one you'll have to change back when you're done with reading.

While Logos can't do all that yet, you can easily "turn the pages" of a book by pressing the space bar. This will advance the text one screen length. It's a great way to read and not have to continually scroll. Just set the zoom to a comfortable level (as Robert mentioned), then click space to advance!

Now, that is nice. Thank you so much. Of course, the reading mode would be better, because you would feel the real book in your hand, with 2 pages opened. I am looking forward to have it in version 4.

Perhaps that explains why another poster accused me of making a trollish comment when I asked him why he found scrolling the text an annoyance since it was simply a matter of hitting the spacebar. I would have thought that everyone was aware of this since I learned it quite by accident. I encountered it quite some time ago when I happened to put my hand on the spacebar while reading and saw the text go scooting along. I learned to keep my hand away from the spacebar unless I really wanted to advance the page. BTW: This works on web pages too.

What I would love to see in a possible "reading mode' would be to change the background color so to not give me such eye fatigue. Does anyone have any suggestions, monitor type, brighteness, etc. for the least amount of eye strain? This is the only reason I would like to see it on the kindle, if my wife would ever let me get one.

Yes, it should have some kind of night reading mode. As I said, MS Word reading mode works very well for me. By the way George, I knew you can use spacebar there to turn the page in MS Word (and SHIFT spacebar to go back) but I did not know it works also in Logos. It might be the Internet Explorer DNA in Logos [:)]

I like the idea of a reading mode in Logos but would like to add to it. What I'm after is a way to see some more of the surrounding text when I read. So I would like to have the possibility to see one, two or three columns of text so that I can easily see what happens just before or after the text that I'm currently readind. That would be like being able to see one, two or three pages in a reading mode.

I agree, it would be nice to have a reading mode in the next version. The space bar thing I was not aware of, but now that I am I will be "spacing" away!
