Bible Reference Scanner
I love the new reference scanner in the Logos app.
In the help it says "The Logos Reference Scanner allows you to scan Bible references from any digital or paper surface". It is obvious how this works for paper (just take a photo), but how does this work if I want to scan the references in a digital format (on the device that I am using)? For example, if I am reading a PDF on my iPad and I want to scan and open the references, how would I do that?
What I would REALLY love to have is a way to highlight Bible references in a PDF, webpage, or ebook, and have the verse popup right there in the other app (using my Logos preferred Bible). Does something like that exist?

- I’m not sure what is meant by “digital resources“ unless it means a photo. You can take a screenshot from a pdf, website, etc. and import.
- The desktop app can scan other kinds of documents, including websites.
- Doing this within another app isn’t possible, at least with FL tools.

Thanks! When I first opened the reference scanner it opened as my camera, and I didn't notice the little link at the top to go to the photo library. This is great!
Could you point me to any info on how to scan docs on the desktop app? I've tried searching, but I must be using the wrong words. (I'm using a Mac, if that makes any difference.)

This doesn't work on the desktop app AFAIK. They only put it in the mobile app.

For clarification: The "reference scanner" feature is NOT in the desktop app... that is to say, you can't hold up a print book to your laptop's camera and have the desktop app "scan" the printed page to discover references. However...

Sure. Create a new "passage list" document. In the upper left, click "add." When you do so, a box appears as follows:
The first text box is to manually add a passage, but the rest function as the "reference scanner" feature by automatically adding passages. The second text box is for a website page (URL). The others should be self explanatory.

On desktop, you can get the popups in your browser. RefTagger is a tool Faithlife created for website authors to automatically link references on a web page, but Daniel Hug made a scriptlet that you can bookmark and add to your toolbar to activate RefTagger on any page you're currently viewing:
