Vyrso replaced
hi.
i am not sure if this is the correct forum ... but i have a problem in that my iOS vyrso app seems to have been replaced by a different app ... which is green and broken. I have split screens, missing text and and clumsy complicated UI.
This cannot be correct ... is it a problem with the app store? How can I revert to the proper vyrso app?
Thanks.
BTW. This looks like the new logos app with the new skin ... a poor design that i am sure was beta tested by pepole who are power users and like complex software ... i just want to read a book!
(Sorry ... fustrated by the apparent arrogance of forcing this ... or the accident of it replacing the proper vyrso app ... either way I have had to give up using the logos app until it is fixed, it cannot even display a screen if text correctly ... tens of thousands of dollars of investement is becoming harder to access .... )

How can I revert to the proper vyrso app?
Firstly, Vyrso (the store) has now been replaced with "Faithlife eBooks." The app is also being replaced with a "Faithlife eBooks" branded app.
With all of that said, I don't know of any core changes (outside of branding) that weren't present in the app a week ago. Had you not updated your app in a while? The core engine is the same among the various incarnations (Logos, Faithlife, Verbum, Vyrso/Faithlife eBooks).

I find the app to be working fine and a great improvement. I wonder if you are having trouble with a specific book?

fustrated by the apparent arrogance of forcing this
I have just downloaded the app, and it appears exactly as I would expect it to. I assume the Vyrso app has been updated all along, so am I right to assume that you just now updated the app for some reason?
it cannot even display a screen if text correctly
What do you mean? Can you give a screen shot?
I have split screens
To get rid of split screens, do the following:
- Press the "tabs" icon (looks like two pages, one on top of the other)
- On the tab in question, press the "X" on the panel you want to close
- To return to reading, press the tab.
missing text
Can you elaborate?
clumsy complicated UI

BTW. This looks like the new logos app with the new skin ... a poor design
The Icon feels the most uninspired design ever. A book with the faithlife leaf would be much better than the icon they have now... I know it is meant to represent a device with text on it... but it has a look of being very clunky reminding me of an icon from the 1990s. I do not wish to make the designer feel bad and it may be inspired by apples more simplistic icons which seemed to be evermore simplified in iOS 11. But it and the new FLSB app leave me feeling unimpressed.
This type of icon while still simple feels better to me.

PS: I know this is the nit-pickiest thing one could complain about since I find the app function for me to be quite good although I will admit the process of adding in a split screen feels awkward compared to how it use to happen.

Sorry should have been clear... the icon I shared is more what I would like... it was just something i did up up in a couple minutes... I thank you for sharing the real icon which i just don't care for. But like i said it's a very minor complaint...

I usually don't go beyond criticism of old gunbarral (sp) grey for Logos, though I assume our Navy forumites may enjoy it.
But the new ebooks one looks like a utility for a smartphone. Since we're voting (from just now), I like Laridian's. followed by Accordance (ios icons).

Much better than the old Halloween orange is the 3 shades of green. That works. Maybe just go back with the old white book on the green background.
I can't tell what that little white thingy is...iPhone? Distorted historic Apple computer? Stack of dishes in the cupboard? Oven full of apple pies? Micrometer utility? It doesn't say eBooks to me...but I will get used to anything in a few days.
Above all, thanks for the fantastic improvements recently. Good job!
