Logos installed as a Disk Image?

Dear Support:
Am currently running the latest Logos version ( 7.12 SR-1 7.12.0.0035) on an iMac (2017 27" model with a 512 GB SSD). The version of macOS installed is High Sierra (10.13.3). As you know, Apple requires that flash storage be formatted to APFS. I recently opened Disk Utility to check my storage and noticed that Logos appears to be installed as a Disk Image (the image is named "Logos") occupying around 8 GB of space. Disk Utility shows that the image is formatted to HFS+. The remainder of the SSD is formatted to APFS.
Is this correct or have I done something when installing the last update to Logos 7 to cause that? I was tempted to eject the Logos Disk Image but thought I had better ask you first before doing anything. I do have both a Time Machine and a Carbon Copy Cloner backup.
Thanks.
In Christ,
Charles

I'm a support Volunteer (not Faithlife). The critical aspect is that Logos is running OK (the latest version).
Technically, someone else can answer the apparent use of HFS.

Hi Dave:
It appears everything is OK now. I booted to Recovery and checked Disk Utility again but this time the Logos disk image did not show up. I have no idea what happened to cause it to appear. The entire SSD nows shows as APFS. And yes, Logos 7 is running OK. Thanks for your reply.

Just speculation here but during indexing Logos can use up to 10gb on the disk I am wondering if this is what you saw and after restart it was deleted as it was no longer needed.

Hi Dan:
Yes, that's possible. It kind of took me by surprise because the iMac is a new machine for our ministry and this was the first time any of our Macs were formatted to the new file system (APFS). Anyway, things seem to be back to normal. Thanks for your reply.

Just another Logos user. I haven’t used a Mac in over a year (current macbook keyboards are unusable to me). I believe that the logos installer is a .dmg file that OSX mounts. I seem to remember that the installer would show up in Disk Manager and I would need to unmount it before I could delete the downloaded Installer. Installers for other programs (using .dmg files) also behaved this way. Did the reported size of your SSD change after rebooting?

Hi Mike:
I also suspect that's what may have happened. And yes, when I booted to Recovery the image file was gone and then the boot back to normal mode it was likewise gone. I have never seen a Logos update act that way but then again this new iMac is the first Mac that we have owned that has a SSD. It's something we will have to keep our eye on from now on. Thanks for your reply.

Meaning that I can’t type on them. With the move to thinner laptops the newer ones don’t provide enough key travel and the space key tends not to register near the edges of the space key. Note, keyboards on current (new) Macbook models are unusable to me. I just can’t type accurately on them. Other people may be fine with the new keyboards. Nothing against Macs and no offense meant to those who use them. I like OSX but I am older (retired) and I can’t touch type on the thinner keyboards. That’s all.

Thanks for explaining. Much of typing is tactile, which is why I don't like doing much on an iPad or iPhone!
