Looking for help on desktop performance with Logos 7

Currently using: Surface Pro 4 with 8gigs of ram and an Intel core i5. Noticing Logos lags. Especially when scrolling. I get it, its a large program and it is going to take up resources, but I cant imagine this much lag and load time on a laptop with great specs.
I know the website gives basic requirements for an ideal system, but there is no way that 2gigs of ram is the suggested amount.
Are there any resources in reference to performance? Any tips for my current machine? I am (possibly) in the market for a new laptop, and if I upgrade from what I currently have, the price jumps largely. Thanks!

Are you using linked sets or visual filters?
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I am curious if it has to do with your screen resolution as discussed in this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/156565.aspx
The problem was with a Surface Book 2 but maybe they are related?

That really surprises me, Brad. For over 4 years I used a Surface Pro, and loved my Logos experience on it. The last two years I used a Surface Pro 4 with 8 Gigs of ram, and almost always had no noticeable lags. It had an i7 processor, but I can't see that making such a difference.
I would look for some other problems first. What else is running in the background that you are unaware of? Do you have any malware on the machine? Check all your settings.
Hope you can get it worked out. I recently moved to an HP Spectre with a generation 8 processor (i7) and 16 Gig of Ram. I enjoy it, but do not see very much difference in Logos performance than on my Surface Pro 4 - maybe a few seconds here and there.

There is a user commenting on that thread who has a Surface Pro 2017 (2736 x 1824 DPI) and reports laggy scrolling. He apparently has the i5 SP 2017, so that would only be marginally faster than a Surface Pro 4.

No malware. Keep my computers up to date and clean. Nothing major running in background. Thanks for the information!
