Is anyone, besides me, going to buy a book during March Madness?

Who says there will be March Madness? [:o]
This year you have to subscribe to MM in order to participate 😂 The Year of the Subscription 😂🤪😜

I will be if I see value and utility. If not then I will be on the sidelines. I definitely will be voting though. [8-|]

Do you have to pay to subscribe? If so, that definitely counts me out!
Where do you get the idea of subscription? I saw that on Twitter.
I think he is joking 🙃
Only if a guy who goes by two initials and his last name wins and I don't have his stuff (e.g. JI Packer, DA Carson, RC Sproul, CS Lewis).
I actually had the CS Lewis collection and gave it away. I'd love to have a chance to buy it at a great discount again.
It depends on what's offered and how the deals work out. I typically find a couple of things to buy, but I don't usually spend a lot on MM. I'm not sure why that is. Most of my purchases have been driven by class needs over the last several years. The MM offers just haven't lined up particularly well with my what I've needed for my studies at the time.
Scary joke!
It would be nice if FL showed us in advance which books of which contestants are involved in the sale.
Clearly, "Theology Hrowdown" contains a scribal error. My extensive knowledge of ANE languages, texts and culture lead me to state with some confidence that it should say "Hoedown". Therefore, the reconstructed phrase is "Hoedown Hrowdown". You're welcome. [;)]
This year it will be ancient scholars who've never won against modern scholars whose books we are not allowed to put on sale.
Opps. That was last year.
Oh yeah, and the year before that...and the year before that...and...
Whatever it is, it will be riveting. (At least when people found a way to cheat it got some of the fans up in arms. Oh, for the good old days. )
One thing is for sure: There will be some complaining for glitches on the voting system and coupons not working 😁

Not true, I saw this posted somewhere reliable: You have to subscribe to vote, all the books will be free. [;)]

Cute [:D]
I will if there is a good price on something that I want or need. I have always found it fun.
As for the subscription thing, it is what it is. Logos has every right to the business model of their choice. I have the right to participate, or not to participate, in their business model. I do not have the right to tell them what to do.
I will not subscribe to anything, but though my name is "Childs", I am not "Childish" enough to keep whining about it. However, over the years I have had many church members who sound a lot like folks on this board lately. And they would threaten to go to Accord... I mean to the Baptist Church. Soon they would get unhappy over there, and come back. It was good to see them come and good to see them go.
The contestants are champing at the bit. Here Dr. Piper demonstrates his technique for the two-hand set shot.
Who could argue with that forum? [:D]
people would want them to do it every year, and to do it a week in advance of when they did it the previous year.
Funny.
Reminds me of a prof I once had who liked to say, "If we found out the world was coming to an end and everyone was going to hell, the college students would all want to leave a day early."

err, but not quite working as of this post. After auth, it keeps tellng me: You already voted on this matchup.
same here. Maybe this needs a little support activity after the guys in Bellingham wake up to their March 1
it seems the same people win alot, giving us discounted access to the same titles alot.
the brackets are different this year - one playing commentary sets and another playing mobile Ed courses.

I'm getting the same message
It's a nice way to do it, I think. The Mobile Ed/Commentary divisions I mean, not the voting glitch.
Incidentally, I have just spotted a typo in the Mobile Ed section - it says Futado instead of Futato.
Yes.... getting the same result [:'(]

Yes! Very grateful to FL for listening and giving us something different, and two brackets is awesome! Thank you, Bob, Phil, and FL!

Very surprised and disappointed to see That "The MacArthur New Testament Commentary" is not there, on this go round.
Extremely disappointed.

Great to see two different brackets this year. Should be fun.
it says Futado instead of Futato
♫ They say Futado, you say Futato...♫
This is what I'm getting when I try to vote for the first time. Something is not working correctly.
I'm also getting the same result for the other bracket.
What did I tell you! It’s already begun 😁

This year is a welcome change in offerings. Should be profitable and fun.
What are your MM2018 predictions?
My guess is that the Mobile Ed champion could well be Craig Evans. His 3 course series of book studies on the Synoptics (28 hours) have broad appeal, and will represent amazing value if it takes top place and gains the 70% discount previously applied to MM winners. (Does anyone know if Logos has confirmed what the discount will be on the winning product this year?) I think that David Instone-Brewer (Jesus as Rabbi: The Jewish Context of the Life of Jesus, 8 hours) could also do well, but the breadth of product appeal and potential savings of an Evans victory makes me think that he might take the crown.
When it comes to commentaries I strongly suspect that NICOT/NICNT will win, with Anchor Yale in second place.
What are you thoughts?
Nice to see a change to the format this year. In recent years there don't appear to have been enough commentaries made available by publishers for March Madness. My only suspicion (and fear) is that volumes won't be made available separately. I really hope that's not the case, as otherwise I suspect I won't have the budget to buy whole sets.
Thanks for changing things up this year! This is just what MM needed I think. I'm actually excited about it.
A bit missing in details to say the least! No dates, no details of discounts, no terms and conditions etc. Will it just be complete commentary sets or individual volumes? Will dynamic pricing apply? Which Expositor's Commentary? (for example)
That said, I do like the different format
Which Expositor's Commentary?
Hi David, the picture shows the Expositor's Bible Commentary, Revised Edition (www.logos.com/product/20185/expositors-bible-commentary-revised-edition)

Thanks Gordon, that's one question answered [:D]
The voting system appears to be working now [:D]

yes, found the same. And that Dr. Michael Licona's "Objections to the gospel" is featured twice in the mobile Ed bracket.
Agreed. Nice change.
I wish that the vote counts would not appear until after one voted, however.
Hi All,
"Official" voting starts at 8am (PT). We're still working out some kinks in the way voting is being recorded. I'd encourage you all to save your votes until then. I'll come back to this forum to let you all know when it's good to go. We'll also have some more information about discounts and round schedules for you, coming soon.
We're excited to see how everything goes this year! What are some of your top picks?

Just voted. Sorry I didn't see this first. Only had trouble with Mobile Ed clash between deSilva v. Belcher; link was broken.
No worries! All of your other votes should still count. The deSilva v. Belcher matchup was the one that we were working on fixing.
Everything should be working now—enjoy Logos March Madness 2018! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you're experiencing any more difficulties. I hope everyone's excited about the changes we're making this year!
