Master Journal Bundle 3.1 (2,200+ vols.)

This is coming up to be processed. Sticker price is more painful now that it is nearer rather than farther. Any thoughts? I hope someone can make me feel better for paying this price. Or not. I have heard journals are excellent to have in your library.

Excellent to have but not a must have in my opinion. But if you have the money to spare, then go for it 👍😁👌

If I had no other journals in Logos, and my first purchase of them was $1K, I would pass. There are cheaper, quicker, more current options out there. Some you could use for 20 years before you broke even. If you search the forums, you can find other options.

This is a minor upgrade for me and SO, SO worth it. At full price...I dunno.

I think it depends on what you want.
My journal world concentrates on the past (the Academic). For $100+ I get some holes filled in that I want. I don’t need the latest issues. I’m not in that industry.
Value of journals (for me):
- They add detail to the limitations of commentaries. It’s better to have a core set of commentaries, and then supplement with journals. Vs more commentaries.
- Quite often they go where commentaries and Logos (resources) won’t go.
- Finally, when I think my library will never cover ‘that’ tiny detail, indeed a search finds it in a journal. That makes me happy.
But, again, depends on each person.

For me these are what I cam e to Logos for - permanent ownership of articles for deep study.
If that is what you aspire to - they are unbeatable.

Thankful I have built up my collection of Journals over many years. If I had to start out today I’d have to look at one of the smaller packages. Master collection would be to much in one hit,

The journals are not for everyone, but I cannot imagine doing serious academic work without them. Unfortunately, the journals available are not extensive enough to limit journal searches to inside Logos, but it's a decent start.
I know it can be a good chunk of change (that's the nature of journals), but I'm very excited to have them in my library.
