Question about Courses / Mobile Ed

If this has been asked before, I apologize. I was looking at the Mobile Ed courses to possibly pick 1 as one of the FL Essentials benefits. So I was at store.faithlife.com, and when I added OT 231 to the cart, the description read as:
Mobile Ed: OT231 Survey of the Major Prophets (9 hour course) (180-day access) $339.99
What stood out to me was that "180-day access" statement. I hadn't applied a FL Essentials coupon code, it just showed that as a limitation. I checked some other courses, and they had the same limitation.
Noticing the URL (store.faithlife.com), I went to www.logos.com and found the same course. When I added it to the cart there, the description was:
Mobile Ed: OT231 Survey of the Major Prophets (9 hour course) $339.99
Note that the price is the same, and there's no 180-day access limitation. So I'm left wondering what's going on?
I totally understand that if I use a FL Essentials benefit, I'm limited to 6 month access. I'm not questioning that. I'm wondering why I'd ever buy a course through store.faithlife.com if I'm going to have that limitation, when I could buy it through www.logos.com and not have the limitation?
Can anyone explain how to understand all this? Thanks,
Donnie

From my experience - when I buy a mobile ed course it just goes straight into my library like any others. There is no time limit as I have paid up front and I own it.
As far as I can tell the 180 day limit is if you select the book from FL essentials. I think you need to activate a voucher that is given at the bottom of the FL essentials page (once you select which type of connect package you have, the vouchers seem to appear below this drop down). I guess that if you drop the mobile ed voucher into the shopping cart voucher window you get the course on lone for 180 days for free.

I understand all of that. But based on the item description at store.faithlife.com, it appears that there's a 180-day limitation on the course even if you purchase it at full price, i.e. *not* using a FL Essentials coupon code.

The Mobile Ed courses on store.faithlife.com are only intended to be used as part of the Faithlife Connect subscription. They are SKUs with 180-day access. We made them the same price as the normal Mobile Ed products so that people redeeming their coupons would know their value.
The Mobile Ed courses on logos.com are the normal, permanent ownership courses.
Sorry for any confusion!

Good idea Celeste, thanks for deconfusing us :-)

The Logos store uses a single product page with multiple prices for payment in full, payment plan, and book rental.
Perhaps a similar approach could be used for the courses so people can clearly recognize that they can be bought or rented (freely accessed).
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Thanks for the courtesy of your reply. Out of curiosity (since I'm not going to try it
, what would happen if I tried to check out at store.faithlife.com without applying a coupon code?
