Apostolic Fathers Interlinear Format
From looking at the pre-pub images on this title, it looks like it will ONLY support the pre-Logos4 interlinear format. Can someone confirm that this is (hopefully) not true?
I'd like to be able to read the english text and use the current Logos 4 interlinear format for the greek (highlighting an english word links below to parsed greek). Will that be possible?
(Yes, I already have the Holmes AF greek and english texts)

The prepub is a Greek/English interlinear (Greek base text), whereas it sounds like what you want is a reverse interlinear (English base text)--which already exists for the Kirsopp Lake version of the AF (but not for Holmes or Lightfoot):
I think I got it with Platinum, but I'm not sure if it's available separately or if it comes integrated the Lake AF package now. The product page doesn't mention the revint.
I guess Rick Brannan will have to talk to that.

The new prepub is an interlinear, not a reverse interlinear. That is, the word order is defined by the original greek text, not the English text. If you want a reverse interlinear, you should be using Lake's Apostolic Fathers.
Edit: Sorry, didn't see Todd's post.

Thanks for bringing this one up. The Apostolic Fathers Interlinear you mention is an interlinear (not a reverse interlinear) and will work in both Logos 4 and in LDLS3 (there will be a *.logos4 and a *.lbxlls version of it).
The images are not what the final product will look like, the images are meant just to convey the sort of information that will be in the Apostolic Fathers Interlinear. We haven't built it yet (hence the prepub, to gauge interest), if/when there are actual images, the pre-pub page will be updated. In the end, it will look/function much like the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear of the New Testament (see here).
The Apostolic Fathers Greek-English Interlinear will have Greek as the top line, two levels of English glosses (one general gloss, one context-specific translation) as well as adding Louw-Nida references. It will also be morphologically tagged. The Greek text will be the text of Lake's Apostolic Fathers.
As Todd mentioned, there is already a reverse interlinear of Lake's Greek text of the Apostolic Fathers, it is only included in the Platinum and Portfolio packages of Logos 4, and the reverse interlinear is only functional in Logos 4.
I have some more details/discussion on my personal blog, if anyone is interested. If you have questions about the interlinear, please feel free to ask me.

Hi Rick, this is exactly what I needed to know! Pre-order placed.
Thanks,

I just purchased the Lake AF, but it came in seperate English and Greek resources, no reverse interlinear.
I have no interlinear option on the top. what am I missing? I'm using L4 for PC, 4.0a not beta.

Nothing, the Apostolic Fathers interlinear discussed above is a product on the Pre-Pub page. There are currently no reverse interlinears except for English Bibles.

Sorry, Kevin is wrong. Lake's is a reverse interlinear. You may have to wait for the indexing to finish before the interlinear to show. Can you make sure it's completed, then try and restart Logos?

I apologize. You are correct, I did not realized the Lakes was a RI, it would be helpful if they modified the product description for Lakes in Logos... there's no clue it's an RI there.

The reverse interlinear component of Lake's Apostolic Fathers is only available in the Platinum and Portfolio packages, it is not available separately from those collections.

There's an obvious question. Why not?

This is getting rediculous... I upgrade from L3 to L4 because I see a video for text comparisons, and after spending hundreds more than I should have, I'm told "that feature" only comes with a higher package.
I eventually upgrade my package to Scholar's for that feature (and other resources), and later buy a resource I see in a forum (showing the picture of a RI, exactly what I'm looking for!) and again "Ooooohhh, sorry, your one level too low, for just another $500 bucks or so, you can see the Reverse Interlinear that's just behind the curtain"
Starting to sound like the old "bait and switch" to me. Forgive me, this software is supposed to help me grow closer to God, not the poor house.

Greg,
I'd like Rick to explain the logic too, but if you ring Customer services, I'm sure you can get a refund. I've been refunded in the past after purchasing resources in error.

Hi Greg
Rick, can you help me understand why? When reading your first post I thought you were talking about the resource itself coming with the platinum and portfolio packages, I never would of thought reverse interlinear was an optional "component" and figured it was functional with all Logos 4 levels. Please help me understand. Or better yet, help me get my money back?
First, as someone else said earlier in the thread, if you're not satisfied with your purchase, get in touch with customer service and they should be able to give you a refund.
Reverse Interlinears are delivered with the Logos 4 packages. If you bought, say, the NRSV or NKJV from our web site outside of a Logos 4 collection, it wouldn't have the OT and NT reverse interlinears with it; those are components of the Logos 4 collection. It's the same way with the Lake edition of the Apostolic Fathers, the reverse interlinear portion is a feature/component delivered with the Platinum and Portfolio collections.

Rick,
I know vast armies of employees are busy updating the website as we speak, but it would be very helpful if this sort of information was clearly stated on the product information pages. I'm sure even most of us on the forums expected that the RI were included with the resource, whether you bought a base package or not. Because we can't 'see' Reverse Interlinears as a separate resource any more, we naturally assume that the RI is part of the resource.

Unfortunately, I understand now that it is not available outside of the Platinum package, but my questions still remains "why?"
and as Rick says, this should be explained at the time of purchase, not in a forum.
