Loken EEC commentary - no reviews?
One of the free books with Faithlife Connect this month is Israel Loken's commentary on Ezra/Nehemiah. However it doesn't list any endorsements on the product page, and I can't find any reviews online, even though it has apparently been out since 2011.
Seems a bit strange does it not?
If there are reviews out there, I'd be glad for someone to point me in their direction.

This is not a review if the EEC volume, but I did find a page about the author.

If you own Bibliotheca Sacra you could see this review that Loken did on Leslie Allen's Ezra/Nehemiah New International Biblical Commentary volume. This will give a bit of insight into Loken's personal take on the books.
BTW, if you're trying to decide whether it's worth getting (presumably via FLC) one consideration is how it'll affect dynamic pricing on a larger set or package. I think that that difference alone, will pay for your month of FLC!

The EEC does seem to be "invisible" to most outside those familiar with Logos, so doesn't really feature much in terms of reviews. However I did find this for the volume in question:

I'm sure that's part of it, though the Ephesians volume has glowing endorsements from Carson, Schreiner and Horton!

So all this says is these guys were probably given a copy of the final manuscript of this volume, and gave their feedback. I tend to agree with Paul. We don’t know to whom the Loken Volume, if anyone, it was given to for review, The absence of endorsements only leaves us with unanswered questions rather it being statement about the volume.
