Android app painfully slow to become usable on startup

The app comes up, I go into reading mode, then the spinning circle appears for up to a minute before the app starts responding again.

I have a lot of highlights, but this has always been the case. Older versions only processed highlights for a couple of seconds before app became responsive but more recently this long delay has been introduced.

If I need quick access to a Bible I now have to use a different app because you can't have a congregation sitting waiting for a minute while the app gets its act together.

Is this going to change anytime soon?

Mine has been painfully slow, too, for some time. In every resource I open, I turn all highlights & notes off. (Still annoyed that I have to. I use notes & highlights in Bible ONLY on my laptop, & then only when I want them. Never "always".) Still slow.

Bill ... how are highlights turned off in the current version? I've hunted through all the menus I can find to no avail.

As expensive as this software is, I would think that Logos would make every effort to resolve.

Faithlife: Please fix it! We don't buy software to waste our time and money. You expect us to pay with credit card every transaction, every new version, every book...don't you? Well, we expect it to work.
