Making Bible versions read in the format that works for you

Not sure if this belongs in the how to or suggestions.

When I use the AV for the bible, I really like it because it gives it in a column that is concise where one verse is shown in a column format, one verse ends below it is where the next verse begins. IOW, text does not run along together-it is just easier for me to read it this way.

But I like the KNJV, especially when they italicize and quote when quoting from the OT. (AV Does not)I am going to put this in suggestion unless someone has a way to be able to make it the way I would like to. Yes, I suppose I could also just make the NKJV smaller so it looks like a column but the text is till jumbled together. Would like to be able to put the NKJV in the same format one verse ends then the next one begins below it unless quote in italics for more than one verse-just keep together and at tnd orr beginning of quote put which verses it stands for-like in Romans 3 verses 10-19 would be a rather lengthy quote. Keep them together and put 10-19 at beginning.

I have noticed this about myself when alot of stuff on a screen like you would get from Logos, when reading biblicle text, having everything jumbled together just makes it harder sometimes to be able to read or concetrate. I understand not all people have this problem.

So my suggestion is to be able to make versions into the readable formats we would like them to be as far as this is concerned.

Logos/Verbum has a Resource visual filter for one verse per line (that does not keep together a lengthy quote):

Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) uses Bold text for quotations. Personally prefer to hide chapter/verse numbers that were added many centuries after book was written (without regard to original language discourse so puzzled by numeric placement in a number of places: e.g. Phillippians 4:6 that leaves a phrase dangling at the end of verse 5 that has important context for verse 6). Also have a visual filter enabled in CJB that uses Intertext labels to change font color to blue for references between testaments. Printed "Jesus Centered Bible" by Group Publishing has Blue Letters in Old Testament along with a box pointing to textual use in the New Testament.

Screen shot shows NKJV with one verse per line. CJB is active so quotation sources appear in Power Lookup. Note: NKJV includes cross references and textual notes so Power Lookup shows them along with quotation sources.

Here is a blog post that explains some of the changes that can be made to adjust how the Bible text appears. It is for Logos 6 but it works the same way in Logos 7 https://blog.logos.com/2014/11/logos-6-bible-text-only/

It is possible to choose how many columns the Bible has by hovering over the open resource icon and selecting from the drop down menu.

One Verse per line...I should try more stuff before asking!

Will have to check out that other version you spoke about. Sometimes I do not like chapter or verse divisions because sometimes people think something in one chapter has absolutely nothing to do with another chapter preceeding it. The one I am a big stickler on is Acts One and Two and baptism in the spirit as the subject in chapter one-what I think is carried on ion chapter two and what is going on in Acts 2:38!
