"Show Table of Contents" in Notes

Could we please have the same arrangement that we find in all resources - "Show Table of Contents" - for our Notes files. I think this would be a better arrangement than a hide/show scenario. It makes it consistent with all resources and gives us control over the whole Note file rather than individual notes.
If anyone doesn't know what I mean see the graphic below...
Thanks.

Great idea! Simple. Brings a missing benefit of the L3 note system into L4

[Y] [Y] [Y] [Y] [Y] YES! Please. In L3 I had a note file for each book of the Bible, topic and study series because of the TOC structure. In L4 I have a note file for each chapter of each book of the Bible because I can't organize the entries and view just what I want, like I did in L3, without mega scrolling. I also liked the hierarchical indent structure of the TOC in L3 with it's links and titles.
I also miss links to non-Bible resources - something that is either not in L4 or I haven't figured out yet.
Links in notes to other notes would be nice (L3 didn't have this)
Tags on notes would be nice also (like clippings).

This is a needed function for notes. Currently, my notes are not usable because I cannot find the note that I want to read.

This has been requested previously. There are enhancements to notes that are coming in future betas, although I don't have definitive word on a TOC. I've included a link to this thread to the case.

Thanks Melissa, I am looking forward to be able to use my notes on L4. Without a TOC, my notes are useless (I have very large note files).

Tom,
I hear what you are saying, but if all the notes are automatically collapsed when opening the notefile.., which B12 seems to indicate is coming, you will have a TOC by default.
If this happens, am not sure that a seperate TOC may be needed..

I will have to wait and see what B12 has.
FYI... I have my notes organized by the RCL.

Table of contents for Notes is still missing in L4 (4.0b - not the beta).
I have some pretty big Notes files - (each with several sections or chapters) - that I have imported from L3. In L3 you had a table of contents on the left hand side so you could easily jump to any "section" or "chapter" in that Note file.
But after importing them to L4 I see that I do not have a table of contents to be able to do that. Instead, I have to scroll through all of my notes file to find each "section" or "chapter".
This doesn't work for me. It's way too time consuming to have to scroll through them all.
I need to be able to jump right to the section or chapter I want, without having to scroll through scads of note sections.
LOGOS: Please add a table of contents to the Notes feature in L4.

It will be possible in a future release to collapse all the notes at once, so you have a compact view of titles only.

Thank you! This will be very helpful.
Adding that to the already "infinitely" collapsible favorites folder, makes me wonder whom to gift my copy of OneNote to?! [;)]

The compact view will be helpful, but I found the hierarchical indent structure of the TOC in L3 to be very helpful in both note taking and lesson formation. I hope the compact view is a first-phase solution to help the immediate need with a hierarchical indent TOC structure like that used in other L4 resources in the future for the note system. ( Please? I agree with Tim. The collapsing of the notes is going to be very helpful, but I too also would like the indention that the TOC has. In the note file that I provided showed how I used my notes. I grouped my notes by the RCL's text. In one quick look, I could tell what notes are for Lent 3 and what notes are for Lent 4.

Hi Melissa,
The current way the notes collapse in 4.0c does not work as a TOC for me. When I collapse the notes, there is sooooooooooooo much white space between the notes, the window only shows the title of my notes for three/four weeks, and it is very very very very very slow when I try to scroll down to the note that I want to read. Now when I try to read the note, I cannot expand the note. If I click on the title, it changes the Bible. If I click on the color icon, it brings up the popup to change the color. The only way that I can expand the note is to click on the "compact view" button again. When I do this, it expands all of my notes, and it moves me to some spot in the note file. Where it brings me to the note file, I do not know. I do know that it is not at the spot where I started at and it is not at the note that I want to read.
For me, the collapsing of the note file is useless. I need a TOC. A TOC allows a person to jump to the location she/he wants to go. The collapsing of the note file in its current condition only allows me (the user) to see the titles. I still need to move through the note file like it is an old cassette tape.
