George Mueller rising! Great Deal!

Well, George may be looking forward to a different "rising", but I for one am looking forward to the rising graph of this Community Pricing offering of TWELVE VOLUMES in this phenomenal saint's life:

If you have not bid yet, consider it. Mueller's life was an amazing example of vice to virtue (faith). He is most famous for running an orphanage completely on prayer and faith. He never wrote a letter asking for contributions. He only prayed. And God would bring about the most dramatic happenings to supply the needs of those little ones in George's care: a baker would wake up in the middle of the night, compelled to bake bread and give it to the orphanage. A milk wagon would break a wheel right in front of their place . . . and donate all that milk to them, knowing it would otherwise go bad.

He was quite the little hedonist in Germany. Party Animal of the 1800's. But a Bible study where people actually prayed like "Someone was in the room" proved to be a tipping point.

These are a great deal if you are interested. Once they go on the pre-pub page they rocket up in price.

I got in on The New Testament for English Readers (4 vols.) for $12.00 and it is on the pre-pub page for $59.95. I'd say an 80% discount is nice to have.

i had heard portions of his story over the years, but about 3 years ago, I read a biography on him to my children. We all loved our nightly readings in his fascinating story. I also had bid 30. I have upped it about 10, just to get the thing moving.

If a few who bid below $18 will up their bid to at least $18 we should be there shortly. Bids below $18 are meaningless right now. Once it gets to the 100% level, the price often goes down as the word spreads of a good deal, so even if you up your bid a bit to get to $18 you may still get it for less than that. Go ahead. You'll feel better. [:)]

I'd have to "up" mine down from $45. [:)] The question is, Should I lower my bid? I put that in some time back, but when I saw the highest number of bids going much lower in dollars, I still left my bid as it was, thinking that I will be charged whatever everyone else is charged.

Bidding $45 counts as a $42, $39, $36, $33, $30, $27, etc...

So lowering you bid will have no net effect unless you lower it to below the amount it actually goes for.

As for how quickly things take off: I wonder: something like George Mueller is a longer work, requires a higher cost, and perhaps people don't realized that, and the marker doesn't move as quickly, because it requires more people to bid higher than, say, a 176 pg. book.

I see GM's set going higher, but it IS taking a while. It is easily worth a $30 bid, but even some more $20 bids would help!

If we can just add one a two new committed Community Pricing participates per week we will slowly create a small army of bidders. Imagine if every one of those 100,000 people who downloaded the Logos iPhone app would bid just $1? That is $100,000! I can imagine any public domain work that couldn't be brought into production for that type of money.

George Muller's life has GOT to be the easiest pre-pub to sell! I mean, Aquinas? is that a Coke product? Scougal? sounds like a disease the sailors suffered from. Redpath? Is that about Native American Indians? All those are too theological, obscure, or technical for the average iPhone downloader or even Logos base package user. But George Mueller? The dude was AMAZING! I can't imagine the stories and reflections packed into that set. All 4,565 pages of it! Highlight one of his stories of faith and God's providing for the hungry kids, or a quote from it. Man, this puppy outta FLY off the shelves! (or through the fiber optics . . . ) Any serious college student would love spending time getting to know this party-animal turned saint. C'mon already, let's SELL it!!!! (and bid on it, too!)

Let's rock, people. if you haven't bid yet, read through and see why several have. Muller's story is simply one of the most profound in the last two centuries. Totally ran an orphanage on 'faith', no funding appeals--EVER. And God, by His mercy and grace, supplied. Every. single. time!

Yessir. And having just recently purchased Logos, I can say that it has been enormously helpful in my research so far. Only a few more classes to go.... I should have purchased Logos long ago.
