Keep Monograph on Fire Tablet in Sync with Laptop

I'm running the Android Bible App version 6.3.1 on a new Kindle Fire 8 inch tablet. I'm swapping between my laptop and the tablet while reading a monograph. The laptop seems to automatically sync with the tablet if the tablet was used last, but not the other way around, so I have two questions.

Is the tablet suppose to automatically sync to my laptop if the laptop was used last?
What is the best/easiest way to force synchronization on the tablet if it doesn't automatically sync with the laptop?

I may have spoken too soon about the laptop opening the monograph in sync with the tablet if the tablet was used last. I just opened the monograph on my laptop and it was not in sync with where I left off on the tablet about five hours ago.

Syncing on tablets/phones is a pain, and it's got worse with the new tabbed interface. Basically the issue seems to be that a sync only happens when you open a resource from the library, not when you switch to an already open resource. So the only way to force a sync is to close the resource and re-open it.

Thanks, Mark! I'll give that a try. That may explain why Logos just happened to open the monograph to the right position on at least one occasion because I had been trying different things on the tablet to force synchronization and I do remember closing the resource on the tablet at one point. I probably did that (closed the resource on the tablet) at the end of a session there, then opened the monograph on my laptop when wanting to continue, so it was then in sync on the laptop.

Mark, I've played around with your suggestion, but so far it seems to be a one-way sync, meaning that on the tablet, the monograph will sync to the last position from the laptop, but on the laptop, the monograph will not sync to the last position from the tablet.
On the tablet, I have tried the following in my effort to get my last location in the monograph to be recognized and used the next time I open Logos on my laptop.

Close the monograph on the tablet before opening Logos on the laptop.
Close and reopen the monograph on the tablet before opening Logos on the laptop.
Close the monograph and the Bible app on the tablet before opening Logos on the laptop.
Close the monograph and the Bible app on the tablet, then reopen the Bible app and the monograph on the tablet before opening Logos on the laptop.

None of these steps has resulted in Logos opening the monograph to where I left off when on the tablet. [:(]
NOTE: On the laptop, the Logos preference titled "On Startup Open to" is set to "Most recent layout - any".

That's why. The position of the resource as saved in the layout will take priority over the synced position.

It's only when you open the resource from the library (or a shortcut generated from the library), than it uses the synced position.

Thank you, Mark. It's my impression that it wasn't so much the Logos preference being set to "Most recent layout - any", as it was to the fact that the monograph was included in a layout. I.e. I left the setting as it was but removed the monograph from the layout it was in, then opened a new/empty layout and closed Logos. Then I opened the Bible app on the tablet, adjusted the location of the monograph, and closed and reopened the monograph on the tablet. I then turned the tablet off, started Logos, opened the monograph from the library using the new/empty layout, and the monograph opened in Logos to the last location in the tablet.

It sure seems like a cumbersome and unintuitive process, but at least there's a way to do it. Thank you very much for your help. [:)]
