What to do if I get a new computer regarding personal books? I don't need to build all of them from bottom again, do I? I recall there was a post about it (or something on the wiki pages), but I can't find it.

if you upload the PBs on the old computer (i.e. click the button below build in the PB tool UI), the new machine will automatically download them, no need to recompile.
Better yet, if you don't want to Upload the personal books just for this exercise (as you may be concerned with privacy issues, the fact they are unencrypted, or the fact you can never remove them from Logos' servers, etc.), then get access to your former computer's Resource folder - either via a shared drive on a network, or by copying the folder to a USB driver, external drive, etc. (Folder is at your Logos/Data/scrambled folder name/Resource Manager/Resource folder, if you locate it based on your computer).
Once there, "Scan" it - 'Scan <resource folder path>' from the command box on your Home Page. It will locate all your compiled PBs and add them to your new computer's Logos library without the need to recompile or upload them.

A Logos staff member informed me that Logos has
HALTED DEVELOPMENT of the Personal Books Tool and that it MAY BE REMOVED in the future due to copyright concerns.
As a writer, and long time Logos user, I think this is a step in the wrong direction and there should be a work around. I use this tool all the time; it helps me remember what I said when and to whom; what passages I reference and preach from; it is intimately related to searching my own content and remembering context; I rely on this feature as I get older to help keep me organized, and I am sure I am not alone in this.
How can we retain this feature?
Copyright is always an issue- everyone is responsible to check not just the print in the book- but call the publisher- they will answer your questions- and be totally honest about what you are going to do.
I tell them where I bought the resource, and even supply a copy of the receipt if requested, I explain the process and why I want to do it. So far I have only had 2 resources I was asked not to use for PBB- the reason- wait for it, wait, wait, because they were in the process of working with FL on publishing the 2 resources- and no will not tell you what they are.
Publishers are very aware of this ability within Logos- you would be surprised how many asked specific questions about how I was going to obtain a working copy to accomplish the task, told them how I do it, how I treat the non-working product afterwards, and I always- always get the thumbs up- their legal departments are actually very dedicated and nice to work with.
The resources I have done this with have almost a 99% chance of ever being made a FL resource, well not in my lifetime anyway.

We don't have any plans to discontinue Personal Books. What the Faithlife rep told you is accurate in a literal sense, but probably not as drastic as it comes across.

PBs seem like a pretty cumbersome tool for these purposes. Personal Books have a powerful syntax for creating richly-tagged resources, but they aren't well suited for quick adaptations and portability.
Most of these tasks would be better handled by Notes (especially the new Notes system in development now), so you can take them on the go in the Logos mobile app, sync to multiple devices, anchor them to Bible references and other points to see them in context, and organize them with your own tags and "notebooks."
In any case, we take your personal creations very seriously at Faithlife. Personal Books aren't going anywhere any time soon; and if/when they ever do, rest assured that we will let you know well in advance, with a strategy in place for you to export or migrate your books to a new home.

Hopefully you have the old computer still up and running so that you can use the scan command as noted before. [Or you used the upload feature]
However recompiling all of them on the new computer has one advantage: You KNOW that you still have all of the docx source files on the new computer.
I have set myself with backups of both the docx source files and the compiled files. [As I only have one computer I have not used upload]

If it is non-copyrighted or out of copyright just give them a copy of the DOCX files that build the PBB
Thank you for your quick response, but not good news as I would have thought that there is a way to provide the compiled book.
Another question please: How do I use the 'language code' for foreign language (e.g. Hebrew or Greek) within an English Bible verse please?
