Web App Improvements: March 12, 2018
Since I haven’t given an update in a while, here’s some of the improvements we’ve rolled out to the Web App recently. It's not an exhaustive list, so if I missed anything valuable to you, feel free to mention it!
We've been making touch improvements, to allow you to interact on your tablet devices:
- Added touch drag-drop support to panel tabs
- Added touch gestures for press-and-hold and double-tap to make a selection in resources
- Added touch handles for selections
- Added better scrolling experience for track pads, especially for Chromebook
We’ve also been hard at work on the revamped Notes tool, which you can find more info about here.
- Added Notebooks
- Added Trash feature
- Added note Tags with faceting (currently need to refresh the panel to make new tags appear in the facet list)
- Added additional markup and styling options
We've also made some improvements to the site in general:
- Small screens now default to a single-panel layout
- Updated the trial info on the sign-in page
- Improved initial site loading speed
- Fixed Factbook articles not loading the same article when the page was refreshed
- Fixed panel tab tooltips appearing while dragging a panel
- Fixed crash in sermon editor when syncing down changes
- Fixed library panel not showing additional results
- Fixed loading issues on latest version of Edge
- Fixed rendering issue on Safari
- Other various bug fixes and improvements.
Lots of work is also happening behind the scenes for future improvements!
Thanks for your continued support and feedback!

Glad to see improvements but still kept back by the one question that many of us have: when will desktop notes be available in the web app?

Hi Francis
I think it’s actually the other way round - that the new notes platform we see in the web app being brought into the desktop environment - and there is currently a beta of that.
This doesn’t affect your timing question of course!

Hi David,
I know you all are busy with the web app development, but might you have a moment to summarize any improvements over the last couple months, in case we've missed some of them. And, more importantly, what's in store for the near future or what might be about to deploy in the web app?
Thanks in advance for anything you can share? After all, "inquiring minds want to know...we want to know." [:D]

Someone asked and I answered that question just a few minutes ago. Make sure to join the notes beta if you want to participate in our external notes migration testing.

Thanks Phil for the reply and update. I cannot afford the risk to mess things up and disrupt my work flow with bugs while beta testing, so I will pass and wait for the stable version to be ready.

Sure thing, I was actually thinking about posting another of these summaries yesterday! We're definitely hard at work on improvements to the app, and there's a Notes beta group if you're not already part of it: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/159247.aspx
