using concordance tool

I want to do a concordance of two chapters of the Bible and then compare the results, primarily seeing the common lemmas.

I also tried to find a way to save my results but couldn't.

I looked for help but figured this was the fastest way to find it.

You can have two separate instances of the Concordance open - one looking at one chapter and the other at the other. Would this give you what you want?

I also tried to find a way to save my results but couldn't.

You can export to a CSV file but how useful this will be depends on what you are hoping to achieve

You'd probably be better off using two Word Lists, then merging them to find the common lemmas. If you're not sure how to use Word Lists, read the help file, or ask more questions here.

I'm getting nowhere on this. I find the word list descriptions unhelpful. I hear a lot of jargon, e.g. CVS, which means nothing to me. I created a concordance for Psalm 1 in Hebrew but see no way to save it. I have no idea what's going on

csv = Comma Separated values. It's a file format.

If you go into Print/Export. You will see in the bottom right EXPORT:

It might say Save as file:

Spreadsheet (Excel, etc.)

If you click on that it will give you the option to save as Concordance.xml or Concordance.csv

The more specific you can be, the easier it will be for us to help you. Word lists are the easiest way to compare the lemmas in two chapters. Here are step-by-step instructions (I'll be comparing Jonah 1 and Jonah 2):

Click on Documents and choose Word List.
Change the document title to something relevant (e.g. "Jonah 1").
Click on Add and:

Make sure the Bible version is correct (probably best to use original language)
In the Reference box, type in the first chapter you want to compare and press Enter.

Repeat all these steps for the other chapter.
In one of the word lists, click on Merge, then

Choose the other word list from the left-hand-side
Click on Intersection on the right-hand-side.

You will then get a new word list of lemmas that appear in both chapters.
If you wish, you can sort the lists by clicking on the column headings.

(1) The Word List Help will tell you to use the Add menu to create a Word List e.g. type 1 John 1 into the Reference box. Then create another Word List for 1 John 2.

(2) From your Word List for 1 John 1, click on Merge and select the 1 John 2 List

(3) Click Intersection to get another Word List with lemmas that are in both 1 John 1 and 1 John 2.

Everything seemed to be going right, until iI hit intersection. A new list opened up but remained blank. t said to drag a column up, but that didn't change anything.

Make sure you have a Word List for Psalm 1 and another Word List for Psalm 2, because you should have an Intersection with lemmas.

Check that both Word Lists come from the same bible e.g.

Here I've added lemmas from LHB (Lexham Hebrew Bible). You could also get lemmas from LES (Lexham English Septuagint) if you wanted Greek lemmas.

I was going to say. I was looking at some old files I saved, in one you mentioned about changing Bible titles. I have wanted to do that for a long time, investigated it, and now I am in a mad rush to change all my commentaries. In my passage guide, I want authors and series title with every book. I"m working on it.
