I have seen a lot of great charts such as timeline, horizontal and gantt charts. Does anyone know if there is an addin or a 3rd party utility that will allow you to create these on the fly?
thanks
Logos 3 had a Timelines addin (http://www.logos.com/products/details/2063) which has not been brought over into Logos 4, and I see no stated plans to do so in the list of features they are still planning tin re-implement (http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures). However that doesn't mean it isn't in the pipeline somewhere down the road. They are very responsive to user suggestions, so if you request this (in the Suggestions forum) and lots of others chime in with their votes, then it might have a chance of being considered.
There are some built-in (non-editable) timelines in Logos 4. They are in all the base packages except Original Languages and the Home (starter) edition. If you have any of the other base packages, look for type:timeline in your Library.
As for creating your own, since the feature doesn't exist in Logos 4 yet, you could go back to install L3 and do it there if you want (no guarantee that whatever timelines you generate there will be importable into L4 in the future, though). Also check out Dipity, a website that lets you create your own timelines. You can also make timelines and gantt charts in Excel. Google Excel {timeline | "gantt chart"} and you'll find instructions.
I am looking at a product called Novamind. It seems to be very good.
Having made a number of timelines in L3, I would recommend that you wait and integrate your time lines into Logos. I've used 2 independent products both of which I liked. (One went out of business so I switched.) Gnatt charts are definitely separate from Logos - with several satisfactory options. I am not certain what you mean by horizontal charts i.e. a couple of possibilities of meaning come to mind. Could you explain a bit further?
