We've just added some new reading plan templates with a variety of “Bible in a Year”-style plans for 2017:

  • 5 Day Bible Reading Program
    • Read the entire Bible in one year. Five readings a week gives room to catch up or take a needed day off, and makes daily Bible reading practical and doable.
  • 5×5×5 Bible Reading Plan
    • Through the New Testament in one year with 5 days a week, 5 minutes a day, and 5 ways to dig deeper.
  • 52 Week Reading Plan
    • This plan takes you through the whole Bible and devotes each day of the week to a different portion of the Bible: Epistles, The Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy, and Gospels.
  • Bible in 90 Days
  • Chronological Bible Reading Plan
    • This plan from Back to the Bible takes you through the whole Bible in chronological order in 365 days.
  • Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan
    • This plan from The Navigators leads you through the entire Bible with four daily readings for 25 days each month.
  • ESV Study Bible
    • Includes readings from four sections of the Bible each day: the Psalms and Wisdom Literature, Pentateuch and History of Israel, Chronicles and Prophets, and Gospels and Epistles.
  • Historical Plan
    • This plan follows the order of Israel’s Hebrew Bible, progressing from Law to Prophets to Writings. The New Testament ordering is based upon research regarding the order in which the books were authored.

Awesome! It's nice not to have to make a custom Bible reading plan to handle these styles!

For the curious away from Logos, here are the details for each of the plans that Bradley mentioned:

    • Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan - This plan from the Navigators leads you through the entire Bible with four daily readings for 25 days each month.
    • 5 Day Bible Reading Program - Read the entire Bible in one year. Five readings a week gives room to catch up or take a needed day off, and makes daily Bible reading practical and doable.
    • 5×5×5 Bible Reading Plan - Through the New Testament in one year with 5 days a week, 5 minutes a day, and 5 ways to dig deeper.
    • Chronological Bible Reading Plan - This plan from Back to the Bible takes you through the whole Bible in chronological order in 365 days.
    • Historical Plan - This plan follows follows the order of Israel's Hebrew Bible, progressing from Law to Prophets to Writings. The New Testament ordering is based on research regarding the order in which the books were authored.

Apart from the duplicate word which Bradley will fix, any other transcription errors are mine.

    Thanks again, Bradley!

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Just what I was looking for. Thanks.

Any chance of the team looking at the algorithms for other books so that we can have some sensible reading divisions that avoid breaking mid sentence?

Since, at this time of the year, the thoughts of all Logos'ians turns to an attack plan for Bible reading/study for next year; we are all grateful for practical applications of our existing libraries.  This past year I've used the DIY Bible Study and Connect the Testaments in tandem for my daily Bible reading plan, and really enjoyed it.  A big Thank You to Logos!

Some of the chronological plans are very "piecemeal," I agree.

Here is a thread started in 2011, in which @Keep Smiling 4 Jesus :) shares helpful links to build your own reading plan, as well as a variety of Chronological setups, some that are piecemeal, and some that are not:

    https://community.logos.com/forums/p/10274/284872.aspx#284872

It is a little technical, but once you get the hang of it...

On the VERY NEXT post, I share my own 3 year plan which takes a reader through Psalms twice every year, the OT Chronology once w/ Psalms, Proverbs twice a year, and the NT Chronologically four times.  The reader has four daily readings each day, and the NT and OT are both Chronological, but not piecemeal. I've been using it for a week, and it is working out really great so far (but I do call it "Beta", since it is still undergoing testing)!

    Thanks for chipping in Anthony.

Actually I was referring to 'other books' as in books other than the Bible.

For the last couple of years I have been working my way through Tom Wright's four book trilogy 😊 and the automatic placed reading divisions have been a constant annoyance.

A while ago one Faithlife employee did try and make things better (tried and failed). The result of this seems to be that the company has given up on this feature of the program in favour of ever closer analysis of the original text.

I would like to see a reading plan for Lent.  You have one for Advent but not one for Lent. Thanks for adding these new plans.

Other than reading the Bible straight through, are there any plans that include the Deutero-Canonicals  (the apocrypha)?

Do any of these plans contain the deuterocanonicals in the layout?

Any plans for getting the Tyndale One Year Bible template done? Or if there is no plan can we get that plan moving? It seems to be one of the major reading plans that is missing from the templates.

I’d love to see some new plans added for 2021?  Scripture Storyline? OT in tanak sequence? Just a thought. I was going to create my own tonight but couldn’t remember how to add custom passages
