is it possible to copy one note file into another?
If you want one Note file changed to a different one, just rename it.
Merging two Note files into one, or splitting one into two, requires tedious work.
... which may be time spent very inefficiently, since the Logos developers are actively working on a new Notes system that will do away with the need for those Notes files altogether.
EDIT:
By the way, James: welcome to the user forums!
Do you really still use Logos 5? If so, you may be able to upgrade to Logos 7 (the currently supported version) for absolutely free: https://www.logos.com/product/136022/basic - the new Notes system will surely not be retrofitted to L5.

Do you believe this new method would be in L8, NB?

It sort of works in L7 Beta (automatic migration of old notes yet to be seen), so - since I haven't heard anything about Logos 8, I assume it will either come in a later version of L7 or in L8. Would make sense for L8, if this was coming rather soon.

I think its addition to L8 would indeed make sense. Much needed and long longed for, it would make a great ''buy me'' feature.
FL could make the new notes system an L8 "selling point," but I think the notes conversion itself would be freely available for everyone, whenever it ships. I wouldn't expect it to be a paid feature.
no I have 7 but when I entered the forum it didn't list anything past 5. or I missed it
I am just starting to use Notes now. I have not used it up to now because of fear that the notes will not migrate or get lost or not be able to transfer to a Word doc if I wanted to do so. My question is whether it is best to wait until the new system is active or if it is safe to start using Notes now, believing that the new system will migrate our Notes from the old system in L7.
Also, are Notes available on the Android Phone APP?

I would start using them as there are absolutely plans to migrate from the current to the new system.
However, depending on exactly which notes features you want you might find it better to start with the new notes system - currently in beta. Some things (such as labelling) aren't currently supported
Yes - but only for the current notes system not the new one.
So if you want to see you notes on Android as well you will need to use the current notes system at the moment.
Thanks Graham

So the new, better note system will not allow you to see your notes on an android phone? How is that better? Can you tell me what new features are expected with the new note system?

As Graham said, it is still in Beta. They are planning to bring it to every platform used, including Android.
I don't know anything about a new note system but I have been using logos since before version 4 and have never lost any notes on upgrades. I have logos 7 and Faithlife on my old and new android phones, have access to all my notes and take notes on my phone with automatic updates to my computer.
