Linking to word-files in Favorites

Hello

I think Favorites is a very nice tool to organize work on a certain passage, topic, specific word etc. Having folders and subfolders and then adding all sorts of items like Notes, Clippings, locations, articels, BWS, even layouts etc is great.

However, I also work a lot in Microsoft Word. One of the things that would be awesome is the possiblility to add links to word-files within Favorites. Is this at all possible? Can you accomplish it through Notes, maybe?

Having this function would make Favorites an even better information-holder. As well as holding all kinds of information from within the Logos resources it would also hold my own created information and material about the given subject, passage or whatever. All I ever read AND written myself about, say, "ekklesia" or Mark 5:25-34 would be accesible from within Favorites.

Any suggestions or advice?

Try dragging the file into the favorites tool. It worked for me. If it doesn't work for you then take heart, I'm running 4.0b Beta 12, so the ability will be coming soon.

EDIT: this will not make Logos index the Word document but you can launch Word from within Logos.

Dragging doesn't work for me but I'm not running the Beta-version you are. So I'll just hold out and hope that dragging will work after the next update of the program.

Have you got any idea when 4.0b will be ready?

Estimates abound. Unless Logos tries to introduce other new features into this edition, the beta testing is definitely winding down. A week to three probably. But no one knows.

That's strange. I also run 4.0a SR-3 and Word 2007 but dragging will not work. How exactly do you go about the dragging?

i usually drag from windows explorer. You need to drop it over an open space in favorites!

After dropping it into favorites, you can right click on it and Rename it.

Then you can drag it to which ever folder that you want it in.

i am running 4.0aSr3 and using Word2003.

How exactly do you go about the dragging?

I do exactly as Steve illustrated. So it works for Word 2003 and Word 2007. Should work for you.
