Saving sermon notes you have taken

I take notes during the sermon, they eventually end up in a word document. I have added them as a note file but am not sure that this is the best way (I'm finding some quirkiness with the notes in other bibles). What have you found to be a good strategy to save your sermon notes.

Please note, I am not asking about the sermons you are preaching, but about the sermons you consume.

2 things, one problem, one question.

1. I have sermon notes in a note file and it shows up well in the bible the note is attached to, but other bibles show multiple note icons throughout the passage for the sermon.

2. I was wondering if there is a best practices approach to do this.

It sounds as though this might be due to "corresponding notes and highlights".

Are you taking notes against a reference or against a piece of selected text?

Can you post screenshots showing the Bible you are taking notes in and one showing these multiple icons?

I think it depends on what you are trying to achieve.

If I were listening to a sermon series I would create a Notes Document for the sermon and then a separate note within the document for each sermon - with this linked to the passage being preached on (I'm assuming a passage-based approach here)

Then I would simply type text into that note during the sermon.

If I wanted more "granular" notes linked to individual verses I would create a Notes Document for the sermon and then create individual notes tied to verses or portions of text.

Does this help at all?

Note: the details of doing this will change when the new Notes Tool is generally deployed but the same principles will continue to work.

It was a "corresponding notes and highlights" issue.

I found that is I turn off the corresponding notes for the sermon notes and put attachment points for the bibles I want to have the sermon notes show up in it works better. I'm still not sure if this is a best practice but it is working for now. I'll have to seen when the new Notes Tool is made available.

One other issue that came up is that some of the scripture references show up as links but some (same format) do not.

Problem solved, the references were at the end of a line, when a added a space right after the reference it was picked up my Logos.
