If you're a paying Logos customer, go for the Logos app.

If you're a paying Verbum customer, go for the Verbum app.

If you just want to read eBooks, but not study the Bible, go for the Faithlife eBooks app.

If you're dipping your toe in the Biblical studies water without wanting to pay, go for the Faithlife Study Bible app.

Noet. It's someone-else's-theology free. Plus the late evening hues of purplish-blue are most striking, when you begin highlighting. And the Iliad that won't die reminds you of the 1st century (and earlier).  Clement could have used it to explain the resurrection, instead of Heliopolis.

Mobile Reader App. I didn't get it at first either.

I should have been more clear...I am asking about which reading device (pad) I should be using. That will determine which app I choose, I suppose. Didn't FL end Kindle support?

If your only use for the device is mobile reading, you might be happy with the large phones (e.g. iPhone 8+). Or possibly the iPad mini.

I did much of my seminary reading and continued to do much of my study on an iPad 9.7" - I'm talking for years. In January I got the 10.5" iPad Pro so I could start preaching from an iPad. And I continue to use it for the majority of all reading I do. That's split between the Logos Bible app and the Kindle app, plus Pocket. While I think there's a legitimate debate about Android vs iOS for phones, I don't think there's a debate in pads/tablets. (Yes, I know that will elicit conflicting responses. To save time, you're wrong. ;)

When in comes to mobile... a large(r) iPad will give you the best experience available IMO. I don't have any experience with the FaithLife Android apps, but when I see my friends "fighting" with their Androids I simply loose my non-existant desire to change that! 😜

FaithLife did end (or rather Amazon ended) the "send to Kindle" feature. That said, if you really want to ONLY read and don't care whether your highlights are useable, you might be best served by using a kindle (there are ways to get your books onto kindle, and there are links/discussions in the forums concerning that).

Well, that's been the case in the past...if memory serves. But I'm not an Apple user and doubt I ever will be, so I guess that should be figured into the equation. I haven't paid much attention to the MRA discussions on the forum, because I've not had need up to this point. I have considered getting a reader of some sort, but it must have never been that pressing a concern since I haven't made a move yet. I don't have a smart phone that I use to access the internet (just calls and occasional texts), so there's that, also.

Thanks for clarifying what you meant, I use iPhone 8+ only no other device and as someone else put it I have no interest in ‘fighting‘ with an Android device so I’ll exit the conversation as you are a non-apple user.

I use the Logos and Faithlife Bible apps on my Kindle Fire. I have side loaded the Google Play Store and downloaded the app from there.

The Logos app is still available via the Fire Store, as is the Faithlife Study Bible, Bible Screen, Verbum, Biblia!, Proclaim Remote, and Noet.

    Blessings,

That isn’t what is meant by “end Kindle support.” Amazon has confused everything by their nomenclature. What is meant is ending support for the “send to Kindle” ereader feature. FL supports the Kindle Fire devices via their android app.

There’s almost parity between the Logos App on iOS, Android and Kindle Fire, so if all you’re doing is using Kogos, it doesn’t really matter. However, if you’re in the market for a tablet generally, there is really only one choice - the iPad. Software support for Android tablets is very poor. Many Android tablets are cheap but not cheerful, and can be painfully slow. The better android tablets are no cheaper than the iPad. So unless you’re very very committed to Android, or you have a low budget and are prepared to put up with a slow device, then the iPad really is your only option.

I'm happy with my iPad and Logos. I have an air 2. Its still responsive, and probably competitive with mid range android tablets.

I use my apple phone more than the tablet though. One less device to carry.

I probably should carry a briefcase, or maybe a messenger bag... Might use it more.

Unlike David Paul - I am a signed up Apple System user and I am just holding out for the speculated Apple MagLev Briefcase  which is set to negate the need for lighter Laptops.
