Verbum Now / Marketing Woes
What’s going on with the Now Free monthly benefit for Verbum Now customers? I still have not received the code for this month (nor heard back from support about this) and last month they sent the wrong code in their marketing email (and at no time apologized nor acknowledged this even after I reached out to support and determined this). Now the month is almost over and I still haven’t been able to get the code and resource. Since reaching out to support doesn’t seem to be helping, I figured I’d see if others are having trouble.
For those wondering, the
email communication sent to Verbum Now members on March 12 was erroneous and provided the wrong code. Here is the relevant code from the email copied and pasted:

The actual code was NOWFREEBOOKMAR18 (I had to reach out to support to get this). As you can see MAR is not the same as MARCH.
I reached out to support earlier in April because their email about the free book did not include a code. They told me they hadn’t sent it yet but would later. It is now April 28th: still no code.
Furthermore, I recently received a survey and the email said I’d get a discount code of some kind for completing it. I completed the survey, no code. What gives?
Logos is Johnny-on-the-spot when they want my survey data or money, but hen it comes to the free stuff they’ve promised as part of my PAID membership, they seem to be dropping the ball. Is Logos Now also this inconsistent or is it just Verbum Now customers (perhaps because we don’t have as large of a market share / profit margin)?

Thanks! I wish support had simply sent me that link instead of telling me it would be sent later in the month and not send it. Also, I asked about this after April 4th and they told me the code hadn’t been released yet!

And YET AGAIN Verbum marketing has ONCE MORE posted the WRONG code in their marketing email!
The emails says,
”Choose a book from this list, and use coupon code: NOWFREEBOOKMAY2018”
But that code is invalid.
I was able to figure it out since they have now made this mistake numerous times, but I shouldn’t have to! Communicate correctly and issue a correction email when you get things wrong! This has been going on for months and demonstrates a complete lack of attention to detail from Verbum marketing staff, and refusal to acknowledge and correct mistakes.

I first want to apologize for this huge inconvenience. I know how frustrating it is when you are investing in a service and things do not get delivered in a way that is satisfactory with the experience you deserve, especially with it being a recurring mistake.
After last month I made a point to ensure the proper code went out this month, and every channel received the proper code except (ironically) the one directly meant exclusively for Verbum Now members. I am glad that you have since found the proper coupon code, but I am extremely sorry this has led you on a rabbit hunt in order to find it.
I typically keep my eyes on the Catholic/Verbum forum, so might I invite you in the future to post Verbum-specific inquiries in that forum, that way I will not miss anything that (God willing won't!) arise:

Tom, is there any way that for the list of available free Verbum books, there could be a way to only see ones we do not already own? By my count there are over 3,000 of them listed there, and it seems for anyone with a reasonable sized library, it's hard to find ones not already owned. I gave up right now trying to find one....thanks.

JT, when I click that Verbum link, the unlocked does not work - I get resources that I already own, and I don't see a way to know the difference without clicking on each individual resource. Am I missing something?

For me, the links to instantly add to my cart are greyes out for the resources I already own right from the listing page. That’s how I know if I already own it.

Hmm. I swore it worked yesterday, but I am not a regular user of Verbum.com. It DOES work on Logos.com, and DID work on Vyrso. It does not work on the other new sites.

FYI the code for this month is not working. The website says code is NOWFREEBOOKSEPTEMBER18 but it says invalid code when I enter it.

The correct code has now been posted to the website. It should be SEPT and not SEPTEMBER as posted earlier. So the correct code is NOWFREEBOOKSEPT18

Thanks for the heads-up about the September code. We accidently exceeded a character count with the initial code, but, as you found, we've corrected the problem with an updated code.
Also, JFYI, Thomas is no longer with the company. We do have a new Verbum marketing person that we'll be introducing soon.
