Library Expansions big sale

I just noticed Library Expansions are on sale for 50% off for XL. That brings the overall discount into the 85-90% range (or 90%+ for Master Collection) off the individual resource prices. That is competitive with base package discounts, so definitely worth checking out. Now I just have to figure out how to limit myself to a reasonable number of these.

Really quite unbelievable ... about 12 cents on the dollar and resources I've wanted too. About 6 resources paid for the whole caboodle.

I picked up 5 of the XLs (ancient, backgrounds, jewish, greek, hebrew).

Really quite unbelievable ... about 12 cents on the dollar and resources I've wanted too. About 6 resources paid for the whole caboodle.

Just for info, I just finished downloading and tagging. I got about 200 books at about $3 per volume (dynamic).

The mix was about 50% pre-1926; 50% post-60s

Of the oldies, maybe 10 were sleepers; the rest were volumes I needed; many I didn't know Logos had.

And about 30 I added to my must-read list.

So, whoever did the collection-build, it turned out great.

Just so folks know, there is a fair amount of overlap in these bundles, so you may end up buying the same book twice (maybe more?) if you buy multiple expansion packs.

Uh, maybe "fair" was the wrong word...perhaps "fare"??

If you buy multiple expansions at the same time -through the website - dynamic pricing doesn’t kick in.

you can avoid this by buying them in separate transactions

Technically, the mishnah is part of the talmud (usage).

In Logos, the mishnah is sold separate from the talmud (Babylonian/Jerusalem). And the sale includes only the Jerusalem.

So, I doubt you'll be a happy camper this time?

Theology. I grew up in a fundementalist church, and after retirement, a church that took the writings seriously (distinguishing against interpretation/guessing and traditions/doctrines). And indeed, both in Bible class and sermons, each has a duty for their own salvation. The pastor was quite happy to discuss positions, and let each decide. And never to say 'I'm correct'; only to say 'here's why'.

I said before, I'm very much thankful for Bob's expressed goal of letting the individual study unhindered with the need for a physical library, etc. I'm not a big supporter of lay vs churchmen. It simply promotes laziness.

Regarding need, it's largely a point in time (where I'm presently studying). I had an interesting pizza and beer conversation with a very active son of a missionary in Africa. Being curious, I proposed to him that the NT was unnecessary; understanding the prophets was sufficient. He thought a literal minute, then agreed; the NT was convenient, though. Ergo, my present interest in the OT.

So, yes, not too mainstream. But one of many.
