iPad App not showing downloaded books when offline

Hello,

I'm having issues with my iPad app. I'm running iOS 12.0. Since upgrading, my downloaded books are not readable offline. I believe I have an up to date Logos app. When I attempt to open a downloaded book while not connected to wifi, I get a blank white screen. Books that were previously open will open to the section I was reading, but I cannot go past that section. It stops like that is the end of the book. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,

Nick

    Hi Nick

I've just tried this on my iPad running iOS 12.0 and it works fine.

Which version of the app do you have? I have 6.5.5

I got a message that Atlas had been removed because of iOS 12 incompatibility, I have version 6.5.5 installed.

Yes that's correct but as far as I can see its not related to this thread.

What was the point you wanted to make? Would it be better in a separate thread?

I have experienced it before. I think it may be related to updated resources (you have an old version of the resource downloaded) OR corruption of the installation.

I was on 6.5.4, so I updated it to 6.5.5. Still having the same issue.  No downloaded books will load while offline. When I turn wifi off and go to my library, I see listed the 90 books I have downloaded on my iPad, but they're icons don't load. When I click on one I just get a white screen. The table of contents shows a spinning wheel when I click on it. I checked the storage, and it shows 130.1 MB of documents and data for the Logos app, so it seems like the books are in fact stored.

Yes, but either 1) outdated OR 2) corrupted.

Try deleting one, redownloading it and trying offline. If that doesn't work, a fresh install may be needed.

I have the same/similar issue. I’ve upgraded, reinstalled, redownloaded and it will not work without internet access. I had a similar issue when I was on Mission in Kenya on a Mac. Downloaded everything and would not work offline. Good thing I brought a few hard copy study materials. Anyone have a solution?

    Hi Nicholas

If you go to the library in the App and type

    local:

    do the resources show up?

can you open them from that display?

    Greeting Jim

Welcome to the forums - I hope we can do something to help.

You might like (using the mobile app) to answer the two questions I asked above.

With regard to the use of the Mac that is a little more concerning because by default all the resources you own are downloaded onto your machine and almost always the internet is not involved in accessing them.

However to get some help with this issue you would be much better to post that particular problem in the Logos 7  forum.

You should give details of your Logos version number and MacOS version number.

If the problem is internet access then you should turn wi-fi off or disconnect you cable, allow the problem to manifest itself and post logs.

Please do not do that in this forum as it will lead to confusion and you won't get the best help available.

  • I have the same problem as OP. My resources are there, but blank when I open them without being online (which I cant be all the time, thus the need to download them to my ipad).
