Yes, Damian, but not very easily.

Fred,
I wasn't commenting on ease. I was commenting on possibility.
I find it quite frustrating to search for a topic, go to the more search options at the bottom of the page, and then chose to sort by date - newest first. There seems to be no easy way of doing this.
Nevertheless, it is possible and many people would find the answers to their questions by doing this. It would take less time than posting a query.

Damian, you wrote, "Nevertheless, it is possible and many people would find the answers to their questions by doing this. It would take less time than posting a query." Normally this is a good thing, but I have found value for the purposes of Beta testing to read what people find trouble doing. Finding solutions to questions is good for the users, BUT knowing that a LOT of people get confused navigating is better for the programmers. Just my 2c :-)

Joe,
I agree with this principle absolutely. I would encourage anyone having a problem with an aspect of the program to search for the answer - and when found to add a post to that thread saying: "I was stumped by that one too."
And those who are having trouble searching can add to the already existing threads - "Searching these forums is too hard."

My biggest reason for writing was to help encourage everyone... despite the downside of the forums, there is a silver lining that should give us some reason to smile :-)0 -
Joe,
I'm not sure everyone is smiling at the mixed reactions that the Beta has received
