Why does my ESV Study Bible notes reference the KJV

Hello,

I am new to Logos and I have just purchased the ESV Study Bible for Logos 7.  When I look at references in the ESV study notes they reference the KJV. How do I gave these references reference the ESV Bible instead ?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Welcome William, study bibles in Logos are not tied to a specific bible translation, they will pull up the text of your highest prioritised bible.

See the following video for and introduction to prioritising resources.

You can used advanced prioritisation for a given bible translation to control which version a study bible will display but first you need to understand how prioritisation works before getting into the advanced settings.

This is due to something called prioritization. Resources will reference the text of your highest prioritized Bible, and will open to that reference in that Bible when you click on it. If you have prioritized the KJV as your top prioritized Bible, then this is what you would see.

You can prioritize the ESV as your top prioritized Bible in Library by right clicking on the ESV in Library and selecting "prioritize this resource" then opening the Prioritization panel in Library and dragging the ESV to the top of your Bible list.

I don't know of a way to make the ESV Study Bible open to ESV references in any other way.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! I have it properly prioritized and working now.

    Sincerely,

Advanced Prioritization allows ESV to show in Bible pop-up for ESV Study Bible while another Bible is highest preferred (e.g. CJB)

Screen shot shows ESV Study Bible pop-up of ESV along with Library Advanced Prioritization above preferred Bible.

Advanced Prioritization is also useful for Bible references for a Bible showing pop-up's using that translation (instead of highest preferred).

So I thought, and that is how my advanced prioritization is set up and it isn't working for me, therefore my statement. I'll have to give what I've set up a closer look.

    Here's my setup:

    Here's what I've been getting:

I've also notice that links internal to a book like the NIV jump not to the NIV (as my advanced prioritization is set up to accomplish) but back to my top Bible (the NASB95).

I know these worked when I set them up, but they aren't working now.

    Got any thoughts?

Mark - I am unsure of your issue, but I'll take a stab at it. It looks to me like your highest prioritized resource is the NASB. That is what you are seeing. You have an advanced prioritization but it is LOWER than the NASB. You need to move it HIGHER.

Suggest moving NASB95 prioritization below Advanced Prioritizations for Bibles. A potential cause for NASB95 being higher in prioritization list is setting preferred Bible (in mobile app, desktop application, and/or web app).

When searching for a resource that has a particular index type, first one that is usable appears. In these cases for Bible verses, NASB95 appears since NASB95 is higher in prioritized list (so Advanced Prioritizations below NASB95 are ignored)

Good point - I figured this out last night.

Justin and KS4J, thanks for putting your eyes on my problem. You are correct. Moving my top Bible below my advance prioritized Bibles fixed all my issues. Appreciated.

Cuatom advanced prioritisatlions need to appear before general prioritisations as the highest ranked prioritisation for that data type will take precedence.

Thanks JT and KS4J. I had some screen shots ready to go on how to implement this but the forums kept timing out on me yesterday. This works well in a multiple resource setup of different study bibles.
