Funny Dan , but not even close to the visual refinement and power of Mac Alpha
sorry . . . i have noticed an increased loopiness in my posts this evening. In direct proportion to the consternation regarding tomorrow's sermon on Peter's Confession/binding loosing (pleeeeeez re-loose me, let me goooooooo, iiiiiii am not tom jooonnnes)

Not to misdirect the this thread from the topic, but are there any posts in the forum or elsewhere that have screen shots of the Mac version of Logos 4? I thought I had seen something several weeks ago comparing the Mac and Windows colors and/or layout, but I could not find it again. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!
*** Update: I did find some Logos 4 Mac screenshots.

I remember too, although I came in around the end of that era. I discovered Logos just before Series X came out. But ya know, for the time it was a pretty awesome product.
Kind of looks like the current e-Sword. Ouch.

what's interesting is that to this uninformed bible software user, it resembles another very famous piece of bible software doesn't it?

The article that those screenshots came from was written in 1996 by Harry Hahne, who is still here on the forums with us.

Never mind 2.0, I remember 1.6! One thing which that could do, which more recent versions don't - it integrated automatically and seamlessly to provide scripture texts within 'WorshipMaster', the Church of England's then-current liturgy planning software.
If I could get Logos 4 and Visual Liturgy Live to do that I'd be happy...
It doesn't take much.

Do you still have your 5.25" floppies? I would but years ago my "stuff" started quietly disappearing. My wife claims she didn't have anything to do with it.

Back in 1993/4 I, too, used Logos 1.6 (3.5" floppies) and I bought the NA26 & BHS add-on diskettes. But it could do something that has since "vanished". It came with a special macro which I could use in Lotus AmiPro 3, my wordprocessor, to copy Bible verses into my text without first having Logos open. That was so handy. There was no activation and the registration card was sent by post to give you one year of free support. (Of course, hardly anyone even had a dial-up modem then and online meant Bulletin Boards and the Internet was a world of text not multi-media.)
1996 was the launch of Logos 2. As I write I can look over to a shelf in my bookcase which has Logos 2.0 complete with two CDs and Installation Diskette. The minimum system requirements were Windows 3.1 or Windows 95, running on a 386-PC with a minimum of 4MB RAM. It was resold here in the UK by Hodder & Stoughton with a VHS Instructional Video. The outside of the substantial box says, "Logos Bible Software 2.0 has it all!"

Thanks for the memories! I still have it all, except my boxes are folded up flat inside a big gallon sized baggie with each additional piece of software I have purchased through the years (actually it is several baggies)! It used to take a day or two to load everything whenever I changed computers. And yes, Lotus Suite and copying Bible verses that way is also a sweet memory!
I am so thankful God directed me to Logos software. It was my very first (and only )Bible study software. I've hung around all these years and love seeing what it has become!

A former elder in my church gave me a copy along with the KJV free unlock that he got from a bargan bin some years ago. Remember how long the indexing took...Like 30 minutes... It was very fast though overall, wasn't it. Do you remember this one that went along side? I have hoped it would come back, but word search is probably as close as we will get.

Wonder about Logos 2 quick usage tips ? [;)] Virtual machine with old software can be fun:
Even though Logos 2 resources has Help-Addin-BiblePuzzles-en.lbxoeb, unable to find Menu choice.
In Logos 3.0g (upgrade path from 2.0), Tools => Bible Puzzles => Word Find
Crossword puzzle maker would be a good addition to "Bible Puzzles", perhaps Wordle layout option.
By the way, Logos 4 moved "Word Find Puzzle" to File menu.
Keep Smiling [:)]

Hi All,
I'm in the process of updating our church office PC and they have been using WorshipMaster 1.1 for many years. They use it to copy song lyrics into the Service sheets and to record a history of song usage both of which they don't want to lose. The software still works fine but there is a fear that one day Windows will go to a version where WorshipMaster no longer works. Does anyone know of a simple upgrade path that especially reatins the song usage function?
We use Copy Report for reporting usage to CCLI but WorshipMaster lets us know how many times and when song xx was last used.

David, welcome to the forums!
I don't know specifics to your question, it seems like the best bet would be to contact the vendor/publisher of Worship Master and see what they have done over the years to update their software.

I never got that but I remember having on Win 3.1 from Logos, can't remember exactly what is was called now, a separate devotional package. The floppies have long disappeared.. along with a floppy drive in my computer for that matter.

I obviously am a pack rat. I just last week came across my old Logos 2 (level three) disks still in their original rather tattered box. I did at least last year finally throw out my Wordperfect 5.1 disks and manual (a rather large notebook)!

Andrew,
Below is a link to some history of the Logos changes. And I believe there is a wiki page on the history of the different versions, packages, and contents.

I believe the devotional add-on was called "One Minute Bible"; but that may not be correct.

Wow. When was the last time software came with a manual?? I had dedicated space on the shelf just to keep them. Bet I have one or two oldies around. Excel 2.0 perhaps? Those were NOT the good old days.
