Logos 6 year-end discount

I read last week a post by someone who wondered whether Logos 7 was around the corner. I am not raising this question again, at least not directly, but I am a bit puzzled by one aspect of the messaging that accompanies the 15% discount being currently offered:
Logos 6 Will Never Be 15% Off Again...Ever!
Now, I could not say for certain but it seems to me that (1) 15% discounts on base packages, however appreciated, are not an exceptional occurrence and (2) that I seem to recall previous messaging that suggested that the sale back then was a now or never chance.
But beyond this, I find it curious that, if this claim is to be taken at face value, Faithlife would close that door, unless perhaps, there is sufficiently little time between now and the next product that they can be confident they won't need to run a sale on version 6 base packages again...
Thoughts?

This is what I'm thinking. I wouldn't think that they would cancel 15% base package discounts, as that is a headline that will cause a lot of new (and old) users to take a second look.
EDIT: And notice that it specifically said "Logos 6" and not just "Logos".

I agree that adding the word "ever" does raise questions. But I am not sure it was a good idea. It will probably put a damper on the Christmas sales for those with limited funds who will wait to see if Logos 7 is about to ship.

I had similar questions when I saw the word "ever" in that ad. Just wild speculation here, but if it does mean 7 will be released in the next few months, perhaps there will be a discount for those who bought a base package immediately before the release. I seem to recall Faithlife has done something similar in the past for people who bought packages within six months of a major release.

I bought a Logos 5 base package a month before the release of Logos 6 and they did give me a disount on a Logos 6 base package.

Wow, that would sure be a quick turn-around time from L6 to L7. A bit too quick if you ask me, unless they are going to offer radically discounted cross grade rates.

I still don't believe we will see Logos 7 before October 2016. I could be wrong but I think I'm not.

Used to be that one could kind of guess when a private beta was going on by the quietness of certain forum users, as they were busy testing and posting the beta. That's more difficult now, as it seems to me there are many more forum users to notice, and maybe some of the users who once did the private beta seem to be posting less frequently for other reasons.
Has anyone noticed any of the usual suspects MIA recently?

Just said they will never offer Logos 6 for 15%...but they could for 10% or 20% ;-)

If nothing else, it sure is thought-provoking and surrounded with a sense of mystery.

My hope remains that Logos/Verbum 6+ base packages are coming.

Starting early next year, Logos 6 discounts on the web and over the phones will no longer be 15%. This is the last chance to save 15% on Logos 6 base packages.

I sense some belt-tightening at Logos. I understand that they're losing money.

Hi George,
I get where you are coming from, but, to be fair, there is a difference between, say, a reduction in revenue (or even a diminishing of margins) and a company becoming loss-making (although, clearly, if unaddressed, one will lead to another). I know that you didn't quite say that Faithlife was in such a position, but I can understand it being read that way.
The truth is that we don't and likely won't know the bottom line in terms of their current position. I understood, however, from Bob's remarks, that the issue was largely relate to cash flow and future investments which were not yet yielding a return. [Edit: Importantly, I alsso understand, from what Bob has written, that the move was governed by prudence rather than in response to some unforeseen crisis.]
Blessings

We're just managing cash. Yes, we promoted payment plans. They work great to a point.
This isn't a crisis, or an emergency, or even the end of tweaks to the program -- it may tighten more, loosen in other ways, etc.
This is just a math problem.

On the bright side, both the ad and Phil's response specifically were about Logos 6. No comment was made about Logos 7, so the door was left open (at least for now) for future 15% discounts.

I would be a bit surprised to not see a 15% DISCOUNT when 7 is released, with likely something like INTRODUCTORY PRICING GOOD FOR ONE MONTH ONLY. This gets people to adopt early and if they know that there will never be a discount beyond 10% they may rush to take it... Although might be nice to have it at 20%.... to really push early adoption. But this is all just speculation. It is possible that 10% off is the most they will ever offer on base packages in the future.
