I've used chinese before and it worked by making the font bold. Now that is not working. See screenshot. I need all the characters to display. This is urgent, for this weekend.
Hi Ben,
I'm not a Proclaim user. But I noticed in your screen shot that the characters that do appear are shared between the Traditional and the Simplified scripts. The ones that are not appearing for you are different in the two scripts. I've seen similar problems in other apps (e.g. Word) with certain Chinese fonts.
Try changing to a different font (e.g. SimSun, SimHei, Arial Unicode, and many others) and see if it helps.
Hope this helps,
Peter
Yeah. I tried multiple different fonts. still no dice.
Another option would be if I could find a (whichever is being displayed) simple/traditional wrting of We Fall Down. That'd be fine, too.
Thanks for your help, Peter.
Did it work recently and just stop? Could you use reuse items to find an old one and see what font you had used before?
also is this on Mac?
Yes, it worked (with the font that I now am using, Lato) and now it is not working. Before, toggling on or off the boldness worked.
I am currently on Mac, but the presentation computer is PC. Haven't checked to see if it is working on the projection machine. Don't have access to that today.

It's likely that we're falling back to a system font, which could be different based on your platform. Interested what you find when you open the presentation on a Windows machine.
Scott — would it not be worth adding support for Noto Sans and Noto Serif? It's open source, produced by Google, and supports just about every language under the sun.
Thanks Mark, yes, this will likely be available in a future version of Proclaim.
