Computer Recommendations

I'm considering replacing the computer we use for Proclaim. I'm wonder if there a recommendations for what a computer needs to be able to run Proclaim well, from video playback, to loading new content, to recording the sermon, all while other programs and running, such as iTunes and Chrome. And I'd rather not spend a lot. Thoughts? What do you all use?

Hi, Pete. Having tested Proclaim with many possible configurations, I've got a couple suggestions that might help to point you in the right direction.

Video playback: this is a big one, especially if you're planning to have motion backgrounds or videos in your presentation. If you're a Windows guy, I'd strongly advise you against getting any system with an Intel HD onboard graphics card -- they are not well-suited for Proclaim and can cause frustrating headaches like videos freezing mid-service. Systems built for gaming are going to be your best friend here.

Recording a sermon: the machine you buy shouldn't really affect this. The hardware that you hook up to it will

System resources: Proclaim doesn't use too many system resources, I'd recommend anything in the middle range.

Well, maybe not a Mac, then. But their performance is notably good with Proclaim because the possible number of hardware configurations is so low and we've tested all of them.
