It's happening again:

Or, maybe, we are voting for the books we really want - irregardless of price.
Despite my previous comments - this is really my outlook too! [:)]
We need the count-down clock back --- to count down how long before the round ends and the next one starts [H]

The round should be over by now. The website says: "Voting for Round 1 is open from March 18-20." The coupon codes page blog says: "The first round of coupon codes will be available on March 21, after Round 1 of voting is complete."
In my time zone (which is the same time zone Logos is in), March 20 is over and it's already March 21. I hope this isn't going to require human intervention during business hours, because if that's the case we'll have to wait until Monday the 22nd. And if it doesn't require human intervention, I don't know why it didn't automatically roll over at midnight.
Is there any easier-to-use list of these books. This all-graphic, hover list is not very easy to use.

There does seem to be something broken, I was looking for the new polls too, this morning.
So I am not upset in the slightest to see the Surgeon offerings.
I was just catching up on the thread. Is this Surgeon offerings referring to the Apostle Luke? [:D]
There does seem to be something broken,
Which is it? ----- 6 hours later and .....,
"Still, it seems to be broken."
"It still seems to be broken."
"It seems still to be broken."
"It seems to still be broken."
"It seems to be still broken."
"It seems to be broken still ."
Pardon, me. I just had to vent my frustrations while I await the coupon codes.
Be still Matthew. [:|]
Oh no. I be answerin' me own posts!
Matthew, maybe we all ought to make our way over to the nearest still and get ourselves something to calm our nerves... [;)]

I forgot my yearly beer I think I will join in as well. Yes, this is all I drink...
A church I know recently held an outreach event for men, and served a beer on arrival.
My theology class decided this was a good idea, because Prov 31:6 says, "Give beer to the perishing." [:P]
1. No problem with the beer. (Romans 14:17: Logos, ESV)
2. But do have a problem if there were any potential/former/current alcoholics in the mix. (Romans 14:21: Logos, ESV)
In order not to hijack this thread...
Where are the codes?! Isn't today the 21st?? [:D]
Coupon codes have been posted and Round 2 voting is open. The reason this all didn't happen sooner? It would appear that I lost an entire day somehow. I still can't believe I did that!
Alas, use the code LMMR1 to grab these great titles at 25% off:

Has anyone tried voting? I can only select one book per division - rather than the allowed four. At first I thought it was a problem with Opera (my preferred browser), but I am seeing the same behavior in Internet Explorer.

Same here... in Firefox.

This is just not my night... Fixed the issue. You should be able to vote for 4 now. If you previously only were able to vote for one and it isn't allowing you to vote anymore, let me know what you want to vote for and I can manually enter in the backend.
Another issue: "Commentary on the Gospel According to Matthew, A. T. Roberton" (sic) is listed twice in the first column.

Thanks Ryan - it was open for a little less than a half hour; hopefully, not many tried voting but did not see the problem.
Which means a title is missing - since eight different titles were to move forward. I'll wait until tomorrow to vote.

I voted in Div 2, 3, and 4. I'll also wait until on Div 1.
I think it's "The Pauline Writings, Stanley E. Porter and Craig A. Evans" that's missing.
Fixed (and fixed). Thanks for catching it.
Thanks, Ryan! I hope you find your day.
Perhaps the fact that the timing of the end of Round 1 required you to work on the Sabbath was not a good idea from the beginning. Maybe you should adjust the dates of remaining rounds to be sure that doesn't happen again so you can have your well-deserved rest. Blessings!
When is the deadline that I could buy things in the first round? Could I buy after all the voting ends?
Also, so far are there any best buy things in the first round?
e.g. these seem good:
The New American Commentary: Isaiah 1-39, Gary Smith
Cornerstone Biblical Commentary: Luke, Acts, William J. Larkin and Allison A. Trites
How you guys comment on these?
Thanks.
By the way, since I have more than one computer, am I supposed not to vote on multiple computers?
Yes, that would probably be the right thing to do. One person, one vote. There are of course ways of cheating, but that isn't very Christ-like.
Haven't seen this question answered although I've seen it asked a few times:
When do the coupons expire?
Haven't seen this question answered although I've seen it asked a few times: When do the coupons expire?
That info is not posted anywhere in the FAQ. So unless someone here remembers how they did it with March Madness last year, and we want to assume it will be the same way this year, it will require a Logos employee reading this to jump in with an answer.
As for my educated guesses, I can think of three possibilities:
1) Each Round's coupons are only valid for the period of the next round's voting [I'm guessing this is unlikely since they would have told us that already about Round 1's coupons, as they'd be expiring Tuesday]
2) All the coupons are valid until a few days beyond the end of the final round [I'm guessing this is the most likely scenario]
3) All the coupons are valid for longer than what we might expect. Iif "12 Days of Logos" Christmas sale is any precedent, they tend to show grace in abundance; said they would honor each coupon only for the day it came out; but once the end of the 12 Days came, they unlocked all the coupons and said they would honor them all until Christmas, but they ended up honoring them for quite a while after that; I can't remember exactly, but I think it was a week or so, possibly even a few days into January. [This is what I'd hope for, but we can never presume upon grace. That's the whole point of grace. It's undeserved, unexpected, unpromised. Make your plans as if we won't have a grace period, but then be pleasantly surprised if you didn't have money to buy what you wanted by a few days after the sale and then they extend the period of time when you can use the coupons until you are able to.]
My recollection of last year is your #2 scenario, Rosie.

Last year began with the option to buy at a discount for a short while. THEN they amended that to let us buy all things at their respective discounts at the end of the tournament. That is my recollection anyway. And that is from a guy who put the ice cream in the cupboard . . . [8-)]
And that is from a guy who put the ice cream in the cupboard . . .
I'm sorry. If it's any consolation, I've put the ice cream in the refrigerator a number of times.

Along those lines, how about a six year old feeding the dog a large can of hot chili beans, thinking that all cans were dog food. [:)]
Got to feel sorry for the dog over the next 24 hours...[:(]
A sign of real "madness" here is that they're charging $60 for Hengel's book on the Septuagint (The Septuagint as Christian Scripture: Its Prehistory and the Problem of Its Canon). Even at the now-25%-discount price of $45, that's still insane, 'cause you can get the paperback from Amazon for $18.99 (which is how/where I got it), retail price $24.99. It's a good book, but $60 or $45?!?! That's March Madness!!

And for whoever cleans up after the dog.
It is increasingly true that some resources cost more in Logos format than in paper format.
Hi All,
Regarding a March Madness title that is really part of a set or a collection, should I buy the one title now, and try to negotiate a lower price for the set later with Logos? What's the best strategy?
Coupon codes will remain open for the whole tournament.
I can understand a little more, but this example/instance (Hengel's book) is ridiculous, IMO.
As Glasgwegians (people from Glasgow) would say, "Pure, dead brilliant!"
should I buy the one title now, and try to negotiate a lower price for the set later with Logos? What's the best strategy?
It depends what you use your library for.
If you are a preacher preparing to do a series on the pastoral epistles you may find it worth your while to purchase the ICC single volume during the sale and hope to someday afford the $1800 set The sale volume will probably be worth the "double purchase."
If you are a fan of A.T. Robertson or value G.T.Shedd I would recommend going for their whole collections.. The unit pricing on most collections is comparable to the bigger discounts in March Madness.
Some titles are not available for single purchase. Jensen’s Survey of the Old Testament, must be purchased here: http://www.logos.com/products/details/4499A Biblical Critique of Infant Baptism must bge purchased here: http://www.logos.com/products/details/4662If you want either of these, pass on the sale and by the bundled set.
Dead Sea Scrolls Today - James C. Vanderkam & A Quest for Godliness, - J. I. Packer are two titles not offered in bundled collectioins.
When it comes to library building, Collections are the best route. A good salesperson can save you money. They know deals you may miss. Often I can buy a certain scholarly title with a bundle cheaper than buying just the one title. (3 books for less than the one.)
I probably did not tell you anything you already haven't considered.

Or you can buy absolutely EVERYTHING if you are obsessed with bible software like my sweet hubby!!! [:D]
That's the whole point of grace. It's undeserved, unexpected, unpromised.
You are correct here. I think it is even more special that it is promised to us! Such a great gift.
The NIV commentaries are $600 more than the street price of the books.
I don't understand what you mean.
If you are a fan of ... Or you can buy absolutely EVERYTHING if you are obsessed with bible software like my sweet hubby!!!

That's absolutely delightful, Nina. I resemble that remark. :-) (The obsession, not the hubby bit.)
Not sure if this question has already been asked and answered but anyway ...
When books move from one round to the next, do the votes they have already garnered in the previous round move with them, or do they all start from a clean slate again?
They start from a clean slate again. That was quite evident when I voted in round 2 because I was one of the first few people to vote, and the total counts were way low -- obviously having started back over again at zero -- not cumulative from round 1.
Wow! The time you took to reply to my post was less than the time I needed to start up L4 (which I was really doing in the background).
Kudos! Thanks, Rosie.
You mean it took you more than 2 minutes to start up L4? That's pretty slow! I'm able to start it up in about 20-25 seconds. I still wish it were faster than that, but I understand it has a lot to do on startup, unlike some programs (e.g., Word) which just come up with a blank slate for you to start working.
