BUG ATTN: Kyle (Anderson) German Tagging in MTG:D

I started a thread here https://community.logos.com/forums/t/176545.aspx and it appears there is a bug in the Logos tagging. I am reading Lutherbibel 1912 and would like to right click for a definition of words using Modern Theological German: Dictionary (MG:D).

I put MTG:D as my first book as the top prioritized book, and no love getting the results in the Info panel. I even tried to apply this book just the the LB1912.

The resource is indexed by German headwords, but the metadata on the book info panel erroneously says they are English headwords, but this is a German dictionary.

it appears the tagging in the MTG:D does work but ONLY if one is using it in conjunction with the Modern Theological German: Reader. If I click on one of the words in the reader, it will open up in the Info panel using MTG:D.

I have posted screenshots on the original thread if that helps. Any chance this can be fixed fairly soon? I start a German course in January.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks J.R. I've seen this and will take a look. I have an idea of what needs to be done and thankfully it'll be a straightforward change.

That would be wonderful if it is a quick fix.

    Thanks,

Good news. I got it figured out. The update will go out with our next batch of resource updates which normally would be December 24th. I don't think we'll be shipping anything that day and I don't know what day we'll use but I imagine it'll either be a couple of days earlier or shortly after Christmas. Either way it should be pushed out before January.

Thanks, I will look for that update and let you know if there are further problems.

  • Hello Kyle,

I'm trying to figure something out. Is the MTG an actual dictionary resource in Logos? I just bought it because I wanted to use it when reading German Bonhoeffer books in Logos. But when I select a word in the German book on my Android phone, the app tells me that I don't have a dictionary that contains the word. I checked the MTG, and the word is there.

I know German is a new feature of Logos. But if this resource isn't meant to be an actual dictionary that works with the system, I will probably return it. But if it's just a bug, I will hold on until it's fixed.

    Thanks!

The answer is yes, MTG is an actual dictionary resource in Logos. It does work like any other dictionary, e.g. when double-clicking the word 'Krieg' in the desktop version, it will automatically be opened and positioned to the entry

I get the same error message as you do when trying this on Android, even after downloading the MTG-D to the device (while lookup of English words will work, e.g. opening M-W dictionary). I think I've seen several threads discussing issues with dictionaries on mobile devices. So my guess is that there is an issue in using it on the Android app - maybe this should be discussed in the mobile app forum.
